Review: 25 x 2 Gorgeous Gothic Fantasy Designs – printed on one side of page - “Gothic Dark Fantasy” is the latest great coloring book by talented artist Selina Fenech. There are 25 fantastic designs ranging from medieval maidens to rather elegant witches. I'm so happy that the book contains two of each design because it gives me the opportunity to explore each in different colorways. I don't have to choose whether I go light or dark with each design – I can do both in the same book. The designs feature lovely women with beautiful, brooding eyes. The gowns inspire me with thoughts of elegance while the bustier style outfits of the witches give me the chance to go a little more flirty in style. I own a number of Ms. Fenech's coloring books and each is better than the last. For my first project, I choose to color a design as a tattered angel. I used a variety of medium on the design, including alcohol and water based markers and soft lead pencils. I went with pastel tones for my first go with the design. When I color it a second time, I will be sure to use deep and rich colors to give it a different look. I will provide a more detailed description of the coloring physical book below but here is a quick overview of what I found: 25 x 2 Gothic Fantasy Designs Printed on one side of page Pages are not perforated Designs do not merge into the binding Glue Binding Alcohol and water-based markers bleed through the paper India ink pens and gel pens leave shadows on color on back of the page Coloring Pencils work well with this paper The designs in this coloring book are printed on one side of medium weight, white, non-perforated paper. The binding is glued rather than sewn and the designs do not merge into the binding area. You can easily cut pages out if you wish to do so without any loss of design. I was able to get the book to lay flat for coloring purposes. The artist has placed a “frame” around the majority of the designs in this coloring book. The few that do not have frames have finished elements. I really appreciate when an artist includes this thoughtful touch. It makes it easier for me to complete the project with a finished look and saves me time, trouble, and especially ink. I test all of my coloring books with various medium which I will list in the comments section of this review for anyone interested. Here are the results of my tests: Alcohol and water-based markers bleed through the page. Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page. My gels pens also left dents on the back of the page. Coloring pencils work well with this paper. My soft lead pencils went on nice and thick and layered and blended well. My hard lead pencils provided good color and thin lines but they did leave dents at the back of the page. For my coloring project, I used a piece of card stock as a blotter page below the page I was working on. It kept ink from seeping through. I highly recommend that you use a blotter regardless of which medium you use so that ink or dents don't mar the rest of the book. Review: Gothic -Dark Fantasy - Gothic - Dark Fantasy coloring book is my second book from author Selina Fenech. Night Magic Gothic and Halloween was the first book I colored in. I am now a fan of this author's style of adult coloring books and could see myself purchasing many more books to come. The thing I like most about a Selina Fenech coloring book is, that the pictures are drawn in a detailed portrait design. Most are from a "close up" prospective. That I don't need to magnify to color all the details. Features included in this book are: ~An author's introduction that explains why she chose to include 2 sets of 25 pictures. ~ Tips on how to use the book along with a invitation to dismantle the book. ~Titles for each of the pictures. About the 25 pictures: ~ All 25 pictures take up almost the entire page including a boarder that doesn't merge into the binding. ~ 3 pictures contain both female and male subjects. ~ 22 pictures are of females in different styles 1 is a little towards the steampunk genre., 14 are medieval, 4 are dark gothic, 3 are of witches. ~ The 3 witches are posed in a sexy manner the other 22 while showing beautiful women they also depict a feminine strength to them. Rather then subjective poses I have seen in other books. While I like this book a lot there are 3 areas I would like to see improved. 1 The titles are printed in light gray on the back left of the page for picture on the right. It is hard to see especially when colored as paper is thin. 2 The paper quality isn't the best. My gel pens leave a "medium heavy" shadow on the backside. My markers bleed through heavily leaving a full mirror image. *To avoid damage to the next page I found using the cardboard from calendar packaging works best for me. I tape a piece of heavy weight construction paper to the cardboard to keep it clean. Then I change the paper as needed. 3 Non-perforated pages are included in this book even though the author encourages removal of pages. This is surprised me as I thought she would have offered perforation as Creative Haven books do. Overall I feel this is a very good book and worthy of five stars. Without it being perfect because, it is still among the top adult coloring books I have found. Where the subject matter is people. I would highly recommend this book to others.

Amazing Coloring Images!
I absolutely love this coloring book! I only color a little at a time and have not finished coloring a page yet, but the images are stunning all on their own. The lines are crisp and neat, and the details are amazing. I love that the book comes with two copies of each page as well. I split the book between myself and my 14-year-old. We both love the way the cats are drawn in addition to the characters. It's hard to find coloring images of realistic looking cats. If you read these Mrs. Fenech, please consider doing a feline only book! I'd buy it in a heartbeat! The only downside to the book is that the pages are not perforated for easy tear out. I removed one picture from a different book so I could print it on thicker paper for us, then color it, and it was very hard to tear it out carefully so it could be copied. On the whole though, that is a small complaint compared to the enrichment that these images have brought to me and my child. Thank you!

Gorgeous Art
I love these coloring books. The images are beautiful, and I like that there are two of each image for do-overs or different ideas. The only downside for me is that it is impossible to detach a finished picture for framing or whatever. Otherwise, I would give 5 stars.

Amazing illustrations by SELINA FENECH GOTHIC DARK FANTASY COLORING BOOK
SELINA FENECH GOTHIC DARK FANTASY COLORING BOOK is amazing and she is a amazing Artis this is a very beautiful book of dark goth but there is a lot of illustrations of Halloween but it is a very beautiful well illustrated book and yes the pages are little bit thin so don't use markers cuz it will bleed and if you do decide to use markers make sure you have a thick piece of cardboard behind the page you are coloring so it does not bleed through on to the other page and mess your book up but I love this book is very nice very well done and like all of her other books it is very beautiful love her work amazing.

Great quality, high detail.
Love all of the coloring books from Selina, quality coloring books I keep coming back to. I shared some of these around and actually tore the book in half to let some of my friends color these as well since they loved her artwork. I didn't have any issues with the glitter pens I use bleeding through the paper though I still took the precaution of pulling each page before coloring each time. I was very cautious since I know I normally color a bit heavier with my glitter pens and I didn't want to accidentally destroy any of the pages.

Gorgeous And Detailed Line Work You Can Use Your Markers On
This book has it all- detailed line work, pictures printed only one side of the page so you can put a blotter between drawings allowing you to use your markers without ruining the paper and even a few words from the artist about the book too. One of the best adult coloring books I've seen. There is a double of each drawing so you can try different techniques and markers or color pencils to get a different look on the same line work. Very fun and good practice for budding or experienced artists to hone their own shading technique.

Beautiful
I have found the pictures to be a lot of fun to colour in and it is great to basically have two books in one to try out different colour schemes.

In jedem Fall doppelter Spaß. Das Einzige was ich vermisse ist die Möglichkeit fertige Bild durch eine Perforation sauber raus trennen zu können, um sie beispielsweise irgendwo aufzuhängen oder zu verschenken. Ansonsten: TOP!

They just get better and better
I Love these colouring books by Selina Fenech. I wish I had more time to colour them, but I keep buying them when they come out anyway! They are really detailed and I like that there a 2 copies of each as I do tend to be a bit outlandish with colour and then regret it! I really like this one as when most things are labelled gothic they tend to have lots of skulls/witches/cats etc and this one does have a few of those but it has a lot of dragons and fairies too which I was really pleased about.
