Old Shanghai Women's Kimono Long Robe - Chrysanthemum & Crane (Navy)

This robe is gorgeous! I was pleasantly suprised when I recieved this in the mail, it looks EXACTLY like the photo just needs a little ironing (be gentle and do it at a lower heat to be safe) and I loved the beautiful navy color. The fabric on the outside is a pretty silky material and its less shiny on the inside its very comfortable and not too warm even on a hot summer day. I bought this robe to wear as I got ready on my wedding day and was perfect. I am 5'7" and the robe falls to my ankles and I really liked that so I don't trip on it while going up stairs and such. I weigh about 175 and normally wear size Medium on top and Large on bottom and it worked great for me, not sure how it would work for bigger girls (might be a lil more open in the front) I have had this robe for almost three months and wear it nearly everyday in the morning and it looks the same as when I got it! I've washed it once on the gentle cycle and it handled that fine. I seriously recomend this robe it's well worth its price and looks way fancier than it cost! It's perfect for someone who wants a more modest robe that wont flash anybody when bending over slightly, like most short robes do.

This is my second Kim + Ono robe, and my first one in the polyester charmeuse material. While the polyester charmeuse is not as smooth and soft on the interior as the 100% silk Kim + Ono robes, it is equally as gorgeous and stunning, with the color perfectly matching the stock photo (much to my relief after reviewing all the customer photos with the poor lighting or overexposed flash). Plus the polyester charmeuse comes with the added benefit of being machine washable, which is especially relevant in the era of coronavirus. This kimono meets my high standards for sartorial excellence. I normally wear luxury designers (Theory, Elie Tahari, Giorgio Armani, Carolina Herrera, Veronica Beard, Mugler) for my everyday, and even I was impressed by the quality of this design. My only complaints: (1) I dislike the location of the belt loops for the sash, so I actually wear the sash higher without using the belt loops. (2) I dislike the location of the draw strings which distorts the drape of the kimono. These are very minor issues though that I can easily fix.

I debated between the $27/$35 robe and the $69 robe for weeks. The fabric for the $27 is 19mm polyester, while the $69 is 22mm. So the $69 is a little thicker, a little heavier. Plus the patterns are gorgeous. My bank account decided for me XD But! This one is lovely! Nice and silky, no tears, loose threads, or "catches" in the fabric, and the pattern looked just like the display pic.Very pleased with the colors and fit (hem stops right at my ankles). It is wrinkly, but that's just from it being folded and sitting packaged in a warehouse. A couple washes on delicate with some woolite and air dry will fix that. There were no strange smells. I've read several reviews mentioning the sleeves are shorter than they appear in the picture. I think the reason why is because the belt ties at more of an empire waist than a natural waist (I'm 5'8" and the belt loops are a just below my bust line). I actually like it this way, since I find empire waist is more flattering to my figure. Hope this review helps you out!

I've had this on my wish list for the longest time and finally purchased it as a Christmas gift to myself. Unfortunately because it's one size, it's way too big for me (5' 4", 123lbs). It resulted in being very odd and unflattering when attempting to wrap around myself, as the inner ties would 'distort' the shape of the kimono, and it doesn't really work either if attempting to wear without the inner ties. Such a pity as the color is vibrant and beautiful, the material silky soft, and I like the discreet pockets sewn into the sides instead of looking unsophisticated on the front like on cheaper versions. I so wish it would've worked for me!

Colors and design is absolutely beautiful. Perfect weight for summer or hot climates. Perfect length and size on me. I’m 5”4, 145lbs. I bought color Navy and it’s gorgeous. I searched FOREVER for a robe like this and sifted thru review after review. I have to say I’m glad I went with this one for the price I’m certain I couldn’t have gotten a better one. However I kinda wish I’d spent a little more and got the 100% silk instead of polyester. But this one still feels pretty good.
