The paper is thick and textured, rough edged so no two pages are exactly the same, and is suitable for a variety of media. The cover is hard enough to offer a good base for sketching or painting on the go and the size makes it easy to carry. The elasticated band for closure is useful and a nice finishing detail. Good value for money for a slightly unusual sketch book, I love the one I got for myself, and the one I bought as a gift for a talented artist friend was equally well received. A lovely quality item which I would happily buy again.

A gorgeous a5 size journal. Paper weight and quality excellent for the money, nice thickness to the paper. Nice touches to the journal making it look much more expensive than it is. The paper absorbs the paint and sketch marks that you make so you have to go over them a few times to make them pop more if you wanted to but for me I am liking the distressed effect that this creates. The paint used was Kuretake watercolour paint, black gel pen and white liquid draw gel pen. I hope this review is helpful to other shoppers.

I very rarely leave a product review unless something is awful.. this sketchbook is absolutely amazing, I wanted to make a sketchbook for our 2nd wedding anniversary, and it looks amazing, it's actually a little bit bugger than A5 (by a few mm, but more space is always a plus for me), the edges are beautiful, you can really tell this is an item made with love, it was even wrapped like a gift, an absolute treat for any artist! Amazing value for money, the water absorbency is perfect for my needs as I'm creating acrylic medium artwork, so uncertain how it would be for watercolour users. The size is perfect, it's got such a good ease of use, perfect for any traditional artist.. Please treat yourself to this GEM! 💎

Beautiful product, perfectly packaged and really lovely to use but there are a few things you need to be aware off if you purchase it... 1. The paper is made from compressed cotton fibers but its not made like other wtaercolour paper and its really soft and therefore easy to tear top layers off. 2. Low tack washi tape will rip the surface. 3. Gently erasing pencil marks will tear up top surface of paper 4. Masking fluid removal will tear up top surface of paper. 5. Using cling film to create rock texture will not work well as paper surface is rough. 6. Tracing does not work very well either, again because of rough surface texture. With all that said, i love painting on it and do recommend it.

I've been painting my whole life and I absolutely LOVE these books! The paper is think and scrumptious. One reviewer sent them back because of the pink hue as he/she was worried seascapes wouldn't work. Well they do! It's a shame you didn't try them. I've ordered a second concertina style and that is just as beautiful. It comes wrapped like a gift! Yes, to yourself! Someone has purchased the painting I've included and they too, loved the texture of the paper! Buy one. You will not be disappointed!

A great sketch book for mixed media sketches. Good quality thick paper in a good quality binding. Would recommend.

Bought two of these nicely bound books of handmade paper but found they have a very pink hue. Perhaps it's just a single batch issue but I'm anxious these will swallow up any seascape blues and greens so regretfully I've returned them on this occasion 😞

I bought two of these, one for me and one for a friend. It is small and nicely made, with thick, good quality paper.

Bought this for an addition to a gift. Never used this notebook myself but a friend of mine liked the accordion style of a Sketchbook that I have. I decided to see if there was one of better quality that can handle just about anything you throw at it since they are a storyboard artist. The fiber of the notebook is very sturdy and thick. The cotton paper with the fun rough edges added to the appeal but I'm pleased that the paper is thick and quality. Next time I'm ordering one for myself. 10/10

This handmade sketchbook is like the Picasso of notebooks – it's got that artsy flair that makes you feel like a creative genius, even if your sketches are more stick figures than masterpieces. The paper is so luxurious; it probably feels snubbed by regular printers. It's like drawing on clouds, if clouds were really into art. My stick figures have never looked so sophisticated, thanks to this sketchbook. It's basically the VIP section of the art world for my doodles. If only my pencil could take a bow!

Have not tried the paper yet, but was happily surprise by how neat it arrived!
