Great straw
Most people say that the case is hard to open. They are right! BUT!!! After closing and opening it two or three times, the little plastic bits inside the case ware down slightly and make consequent openings a lot easier. PLUS!!! I found that pushing from the bottom of the case with either of your thumbs demands a lot less effort, compared to using the notch at the top of the case. Overall this duo pack of straws is the best on the market and worth every penny. The construction is great, quality is great, the ease of cleaning with the included brush is great ( like the incorporated handle ) and best of all the length of these straws is great! No more straw getting lost in a glass, like most of the shorter competitors. Great straw! (How many times did I say great? ; ])

Say goodbye to paper straws
I loathe paper straws, they ruin the drink with one sip and if you sit on your drinks like I do then you know it’s soggy within minutes. This is the solution, it comes with 2 (because you know you’ll wash one and forget to put it back in the case). The carry case is sturdy and slim enough to throw in the bottom of my bag. It doesn’t attract every bit of purse dirt like others I’ve tried. It comes with a cleaning brush for on the go convenience. Great for work. You most definitely will save at least one turtle.

Good straws
The straws hold up great to daily use & clean easily, no issues there. For the travel case, I agree that it can be difficult to open at times. I don't think a person with motor issues would be able to open it. While I think this is an issue, I think it's better than the alternative of the case having a hinge, that would be far more prone to breaking. I think OXO did a good job on the case here, with room for improvement.

Easy to wash
It’s well made, easy to wash , the rubber tip and metal straw parts can be dismantled to wash. However the texture of the rubber is matted can can trap “fluff” from cloth or tissue.

Better than paper
So I hate paper straws with a passion and due to sensory issues I really hate full metal straws as well. This is the best of both. Telescoping straw, carrying case and a thing to clean it with. Super happy second time I've bought this item
