What happens if the blue runs out? Do I have to buy another cartridge since it is tri-color?

Yes. It is a cartridge with 3 colors so when one runs out, the cartridge needs replaced.

how many cartridge ink come in one pack ?

One. The one cartridge has three compartments each with a different color. When one compartment is empty, the whole cartridge is useless. I only use HP color printers to print my HD photos on professional photo paper. For all other applications, I recommend a color laser printer which will do FAR more printing than ink jets and is so cost effective that it will pay for itself in a year if you do a medium volume of work.

The difference between HP 63 ink cartridge from the 63XL ink cartridge is the amount of page Yield that could be received out of each one. The 63 ink cartridge has a standard ink level that yield 190 pages. The 63XL ink cartridge has a high ink level that yield 480 pages.
