This is a great set. They were a blast to try out when I had no idea what size or type of lettering markers I really wanted or would use the most. I can't speak to their quality compared to more expensive brands, but they seem pretty nice and like they will last for a long time with regular use. Careful with those 2 dual-ended markers! They absolutely bleed through pages! The giant chisel and the big brush marker are great if you protect the surface behind and don't intend to use the back of whatever you're writing on. The 7 illustration markers do not bleed through thicker drawing paper. I wish there was a 1-sized tip instead of one of the ultra fine tips. I end up using the 08 and the small brush marker the most for art journaling and drawing purposes, and those work great in a drawing notebook. I like the inclusion of the pencils, but if you're getting this set as a gift for someone who draws, know that they need the in between shading pencils; the pencils included are a very hard and a very soft pencil.

This is a very versatile pen/marker. I wish they were made more available. Usually I see them in packs with other pens that I already have. So seeing it available by itself I had to get 2. I have one that I currently use when I illustrate and I love it. You can get a couple of different line widths from its chisel tip.

My daughter loved the texture of the pencil . Its perfect for kids and adults . The set is an ideal gift for some one who is at an exploratory age so they have the opportunity to experiment with different media of pencils , like water color , wax based , oil based , pastels etc or for a seasoned professional who already knows to use all the assortment of colors included .

My granddaughter used my Prismacolor set and wanted a set, but with more pencils. The pencils are soft and color well. She's an artist, I'm not, but I bought my set on the recommendation of a friend who is an artist. Be sure to get the Prismacolor sharpener if you buy the set. The price here was about half of what I would have paid for them at a hobby or arts and crafts store. I think you can purchase the pencils individually at a hobby store so when you use up one of them, you don't have to purchase an entire set.

I can't believe Amazon has this for less than $80! I bought it here but I saw this same mixed media kit at Michael's art & craft store for $199.00!!!! OUTRAGEOUS! Grab this set now while you still can. It's fantastic. I was planning on buying the full 150 colour kit of Prismacolor Premier pencils but at the last minute I thought "Hey, that mixed media kit looks good" It only comes with 48 coloured pencils, but it also comes with water-colour pencils and verithin pencils AND artsticks. So now I get to play around and see what I like. It's a very impressive kit, beautiful colours, the pencils I got feel very good quality. I will put up some pictures of the kit. The only complaint I have is that it comes in a really cheap-o cardboard box and not a metal tin, and the flimsy plastic inserts that the pencils rest on annoy me because they're hard to take out of the box without dumping the pencils. I will probably just get a nice Artbin pencil case or something but for now I'm going to keep the kit all together in the box. It won't be new and pretty for long once I get using it.
