Founded in 1929, Duralex has been manufacturing glassware and tabletop products in la chapelle-saint-mesmin, a city in the heart of France. Since 1939, when Duralex invented the glass tempering process, the name Duralex has been associated with resilient glassware, thanks to their proprietary tempering process. The original tempered (toughened) picardie glasses are still in production in France and are known as the “original french tumblers.” The picardie glass is the perfect weight: functional yet stylish and feels extremely comfortable in the hand. They are equally suitable for cold or hot drinks, conveniently stackable, impact and chip resistant, microwave and dishwasher safe. With the help of continuous investments and commitment to quality, Duralex has reached a level of excellence that makes its products recognized throughout the world. Duralex is and will always remain a true french manufacturer of glassware and tabletop products, and is the only glass manufacturer that makes 100-percent of their products in France.

Love, Sturdy and Simple Design
This is almost the same review I gave for the 11.5 oz Chopie. My significant other is a research-aholic and has wanted Duralex for some time now. We made the purchase and are very satisfied. I haven't dropped these (crossing fingers) so I don't know if they are as durable as advertised but they are very sturdy and have a good amount of heft to them. They arrived in great condition and in the specified time.I do have one minor dislike but, it did not constitute reducing the rating to lower than the 5. The Chope 11 ounce glass does not quite match the look of the Chope 19 ounce glass. The 19 3/4 oz is a lot squattier than it appears in pictures and more so than the 11 1/2 oz. I purchased the 19 oz first and it grew on me then, I purchased the 11 oz. The 11oz was more the shape I expected from the 19 oz. When they are side by side I am reminded of how squatty that 19 oz glass is but I still love both sizes even if they do not have the very exact same look. (If I can figure out how to add a customer picture I will but the measurements below will have to do for now.)The 11 oz glass is ~4 3/4 inches high and the diameter is 3 inches at the top and just under 2 1/2 at the base. The 19 oz glass is ~6 3/4 inches high and the diameter is 3 1/2 inches at the top and just about 3 3/4 at the base. These are not EXACT measurements...but very close and gives you a general idea.

Well made!
I looked at probably 20 different glasses on Amazon (and read the reviews). I really like these glasses. I bought the 9.8 oz first, which were very small, then ordered the 19.7 oz. We've had them a few months and they have dropped a few times. No breaks! they are sturdy! We use 9.8 oz as juice glasses and the 19.7 for water. If you drink 19.7 oz of juice or anything surgery, then you will have surpassed the recommended daily allowance for calories.Well made glasses - I expect them to last.

Getting crafty while getting rid of plastic drinking cups
I was searching for plain glass drinking cups that would hold a decent amount of beverage and came across these. I also wanted to be able to stencil a design on them. These fit the bill. They seem durable. They have slight rings within the glass, but they are clear and smooth, otherwise. Part of the process of making them, I guess. They can be seen at the bottom portion of the glasses in my picture. It is nice to get rid of my old plastic cups that have begun to deteriorate.

Big, sturdy, and very nice looking glasses
We were looking for a large capacity glass with nice clean lines, and these fit the bill. These glasses are quite sturdy fairly heavy (they weigh approximately 15.9 ounces/ 448 grams). The dimensions aren't listed here, so I thought I'd post them for those interested; the glasses are about 5 3/4" (14.5cm) tall and 3 5/8" (9.3cm) in diameter. They are also fairly thick so if you enjoy a thin-walled glass, these probably aren't for you. They hold a can of soda and a couple scoops of ice perfectly. Should we break any (I suspect this would be hard to do) we would buy more. Hope this helps someone!

Utilitarian But Beautiful
I've searched all corners of the known universe for glasses like this. The design is simple and sleek, perfect for virtually any decor. They're classy enough for entertaining, but plenty sturdy for everyday. Yes, they're BIG, so they'll hold a full pint of beer with a healthy head. They'll hold your entire breakfast smoothie. They'll hold a cold drink and plenty of ice without a need for refills. I like that they're correctly balanced height-to-width, and not overly tall or tapered. This makes them slightly wider than normal tumblers, but they feel great in the hand and won't tip easily. The glass is neither too thick nor too thin. The beaded rim is just perfect width for the mouth (something I'm weirdly picky about). I should have ordered two sets, as they're now my favorite glasses. For those who haven't had tempered glassware before, these tumblers are extra sturdy. I've dropped tempered tumblers on hardwood floors and countertops, and they're so strong they usually just bounce. But should they happen to break, they'll "pop" (shatter) into small pebbles, which aren't as sharp and dangerous as regular glass shards to clean up or dig out of the disposal.I'm very pleased I found these!

Great Glasses. Highly Recommend From a Person Who Breaks a Lot Of Glasses.
I've purchased 5 sets of 6 of these glasses so far, for work and at home. Love the weight, size and feel of them. They are very durable. I have only broken two so far, but that was due to dropping one on top of another as I was washing them. When two indestructible items crash into each other. something has to give. Will buy more in the future as I keep breaking all the other cheap glasses we still have at work.

Variations in quality between sets
We ordered two sets of these, a few weeks apart. Very pleased with the first set, so ordered more. In the second shipment, several of the glasses have manufacturing defects. The walls of the glasses have a random additional thickness to them. It doesn't really stand out; noticed mostly when washing them and feeling it. Makes me a little less confident that they were manufactured well. Haven't had them long enough to speak to durability, but they seem sturdy.

Clean lines, easy to clean, shatter-proof
A bit bigger around than expected. Dishwasher safe, stackable, plenty of room for both liquid and ice.I hope theses prove as durable as the Duralex purchases I’ve made in the past.
