Fantastic and easy
I was given this for Christmas last year and was not sure if I would actually use it. I have had so many different types of choppers, and either they are a pain to clean or they end up actually being difficult to use or something. I wanted it to be easy. I was not sure about this since I did not pick it out myself. It is everything I wanted. It is super easy. Read the directions. They help. In order to clean it all you do is raise the lid and lift it straight off. Then separate the bottom two parts. They seem like they're hard to get apart but practice with it before and you'll see they are super easy. There's also a purple thing that you pull, and it prevents any food getting stuck in the lid. I have developed some little hints that I think work well. I chop the broccoli first because it is the messiest. Everything else after that helps clean all the broccoli off of the chopper. Things like carrots can get stuck but the trick is to put more carrots on top of them which push the first carrots through. Then it's easy. I have not tried onion because I don't care about onion. I have chopped zucchini, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and some other vegetables. I make myself vegetable soup every day and I chop enough to last for a few days. I use old (clean!) peanut butter jars to store the chopped vegetables. In the glass jars, the vegetables stay very fresh. I have never washed this in a dishwasher because I don't have a dishwasher but I'm sure this would do very well. It's so nice and such a good value that I ordered three more for gifts. This is the only chopper I have ever used consistently.

Handy
I think this item is well-designed and functional. I use it principally to chop apples to add to my cereal or oatmeal at breakfast and for that it's perfect. It's quick to use and easy to clean. Onions was a bit more problematic as some sections failed to chop and gummed up the blades. The biggest challenge was sweet potatoes. That was a fail. I tried too hard and bent some blades but was able to bend them back with pliers. I was also initially puzzled by the red removable grid as it would easily fall off. If you aren't careful, you'll chop it up. Then I saw that there is a small lip at the top of the base where the removable piece attaches. You need to press down on the top of the red piece to position it behind the lip so it will stay in place.

Good kitchen tool.
Saved me a ton of extra cutting..probably saved a finger. Should have bought it sooner. Just load and hit it. Don't press. Smack it and easy to pour contents into pan. Easy to clean.

Not a good choice
I bought this based on a Consumer reports recommendation, but I was misled. I was concerned when there were absolutely no instructions included. The label in the lid saying "Press here to snap purple grid into place" is confusing since pressing there will do nothing, but it did make me curious about removing the grid. It is a cleaning aid. However, after removing and replacing the grid, the first time I closed the device the plastic grid fell off and was cut up by the blades. It will now no longer stay in place as designed, although another reviewer showed a photo of putting it in sideways, which does help, though more difficult to remove. The container is small, so it must be emptied frequently so it does not overflow out the back. "Wet" items, such as tomatoes and other juicy items, stick to it and do not simply pour out. In fact, my experience with tomatoes is not good, since they also get stuck in the blades, or run down the sloped front of the device onto the counter. I could not find out how to take the body of the device apart for cleaning, until I saw another user's video. In short, I would not buy this again. See photos for illustration of some of these issues.

Chops poorly and blades are dangerously sharp
This is the first OXO purchase that has completely failed. Does not cut evenly. Hard to use. The clear plastic collection container does not detach which makes it very hard to clean. Didn’t even clean well in the dishwasher. Bits of onion remained on the cutting blades. And when I tried to,detach the silicone grid cover to wash, my large arthritic knuckle hit the cutting surface resulting in a deep cut. Don’t waste your money.

Quick chopper!!
I am so happy with this product! I have always been an OXO fan, and this does not disappoint! I specifically wanted one that only diced, and this fit the bill perfectly. I like the "dump" feature in the back of the chopper, when I am chopping a lot of veggies, I don't have to fiddle with it, pull it apart and put it back together again. One piece of advice if you purchase this. I use a toothbrush to clean the blades if I'm not putting it in the dishwasher. I find it safer. But... very dishwasher friendly!!!

IMO a little big for onion chunks. But... There are Hacks!! EDIT!
Works Well! VERY SHARP!! For me the onion cubes were a bit large but NOT a disqualifier. I found the perfect use is for diced potatoes!! Slice your potato as thick as the squares of the cutter and they some out perfect!! Works well with apple slices too!! Pro-Tip: Slice an onion/potato/green pepper as thick as the squares place your hand over the open end when done chopping and shake vigorously! Then dump into skillet to fry! I have to look and see if OXO has different size cutters so I don't need to buy a whole new setup... My only issue w/ this chopper is a bit of difficulty separating the parts for cleaning. Especially with wet hands. It's hard to pull them apart. Pressing that little tab ain't so easy. The grid cleaner insert is a nice touch though. This is a real value for the money Hands Down. -- EDIT: Mine broke. A blade separated. Put in for a return and had another one literally the next day. I think I just had a tough onion. Poop happens. One last issue. The cover won't stay upright/open in use. No big issue... Just wanted to mention it. I still give it 5 *'s...
