Excellent couch or bed lapboard
I had back problems this past year and ended up spending a lot of time in bed resting, so I had the best idea Ive ever thought of, and attached a monitor mount to the wall near my bed, and ran an extended hdmi to my gaming pc. the lapboard's very long cord was more than enough to reach the pc on its own, and I could navigate youtube or game on the lapboard from the comfort of sitting up on some pillows. its pads on the underside of the board kept my legs from getting sore supporting the board, and its not very heavy so I havent had much problem playing games with it for several hours at a time comfortably. I did attach a wrist rest cushion to the edge of the lapboard, as the plastic edge of it did make my wrists sore with how I used it, but that the board has plenty of open space on the top to put a padded rest if you need it. I have had a couple of minor problems with the lapboard, but nothing deal breaking. The first issue is that the backlight is ONLY blue. I hated it at first because blue light can be annoying to look at, but with a lamp on nearby its not really an issue, especially since I rarely look at the keyboard while typing. The only other problem I had was the wire holder that is meant to hold the mouse cable broke a few weeks after I got the board when I accidentally dropped the board. The wire holder is very fragile, and I expected it to break. Its worked fine even without it, I tied my mouse cable up in a loop and toss it to the side when I use the board, it doesn't really get in the way. The 2 usb ports on the lapboard are extremely handy, and Im glad they included 2 instead of just 1. Obviously one is meant for a mouse, but the other can be used for usb headphones or even as a low power charger if your phone needs it. The Roccat software is very basic and has some really useful functions in it, including some backlight customization. The best part of the software however is that it takes little to no pc resources compared to other keyboard or mouse bloatware. It only uses roughly 50mb of ram in task manager, and it stays between 10-20mb when its minimized. All in all its an incredible lapboard and I highly recommend for anyone stuck in bed or wanting to game from the comfort of a couch.

NOT FOR UK - FALSE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The product description is misleading. It claims to be English, but it's American. The keyboard layout is for the US version. No indication of this on the pictures or in the description. As such it's no good for users here in the UK. Had to send it back which is a big hassle as it's not a small item. Furthermore they said they'd refund the cost as well as £20 off postage. But the Post Office could only give me two options - insured (which was £90) and uninsured (which was £70). Given the expense of the item and since it already cost so much anyway I didn't want to chance uninsured, but this means I've spent £70 for nothing. No product, no full refund, just a whole lot of needless hassle. Which could have all easily been avoided just for the sake of an accurate product description. Some may say that this is a seller review and not a product review, but given the seriousness and the cost I think it's important enough that it should be easily seen by everyone. Plus since the product description is wrong anyway it seems only fair - the product is not what it claims to be.

The best in its niche
Lapboards aren't something that there is an excess of options to choose from out there, but Roccat's Sova was the only one that checked all of my boxes for what I wanted in a lapboard, so I ended up with their product. The features and functionality are fantastic and easily makes PC gaming from my couch a great experience. Unfortunately, I experienced some quality control issues along the way that prevent me from giving it a 5 star review.PROS: The keys feel amazing on this mechanical lapboard. Responsive, smooth, and superior for gaming. The shape, size, and lap pads make this lapboard perfect and very comfortable for using for long periods at a time. The two USB-in ports enable me to attach my mouse and headphones and keep the messy cables strewn across my living room to a minimum. The break-away USB cable adds that extra bit of safety to protect my gaming PC for when I inevitably trip over the cable running across my living room.CONS: The ability to detach and swap out parts seems like a great feature, however it is disappointing to find that Roccat didn't seem to pursue this as there doesn't really seem to be any available for you to actually swap these parts for. There are quality control issues as well, which caused me some annoyance. The first Sova that I received was dead on arrival and didn't work at all. The second one worked, but unfortunately had two keys with dead LEDs.

Worth it
This thing is great! Plenty of room, key switches feel fantastic. I'm not a fan of LED lit keys, but the blue color is pretty cool and the swarm software was easy to configure to my liking. If you've used Razer synapse, you won't have any problems with custom configs. The cable management system is very well thought out. I'm using this with a Razer Naga mouse and I have no problems with the mouse pad that comes on the board. It reminds me of the old Razer precision mouse pad I had back in the day. Slight texture to it, but if your mouse doesn't have any feet on it, it will slide all over the place. I can't ding any stars for that as I prefer this kind of mousepad. If you aren't used to it, I would get a cloth low profile pad to put on top of it. The wrist rest has no padding, so keep that in mind. The way this sits on the lap makes it to where I don't think I would need one anyways. Cushions on the bottom feel nice too I'm pretty darn impressed. Kudos to the design crew. They did a great job.

Best couch board.
This is by far the best couch board on the market. Been playing WoW from couch on my 4k television. Works great. 2 usb ports to hook up a mouse and headset. As well as cable management for the mouse. Getting the mechanical version is worth it. The brown switches feel great. Overall I love this board.
