Value and battery usage.
I have used field collars for the last 10 years. I liked my old sportdog 400. It lasted 10 years with a few battery changes. But this upland hunter model I absolutely love. My young yellow Lab with in a day just by the vibrate and tone as well as the beeper is working already. He got zapped only a few times in the 3 weeks I've had this product on a low setting corrective action. Now he is working hard everyday. Had him on a few ducks he was amazing. Flushed out some birds for me. The range is great. This product is truly water proof. The sound is loud as it states true to its word. They have a customer for life. My buddy just purchased the system with several collars for me to train his dogs for the field on deer and turkeys again on my recommendation within 2 days they were on some Deer, turkeys and scented them on rabbits the day before.they all did great. 1 time correction with one of the dogs just stubborn but worked it out. Me and my buddy are sportdog lifers. Thank you for making a great product.

Training Collar is Fine, Beeper Leaves Much to be Desired.
My husband had been wanting a beeper collar for our Vizsla for a while, so when our first Sportdog training collar (a much cheaper model) bit the dust, we upgraded to this one so we could get the beeper too. The first issue we had is that the button to turn off the training collar is on the inside of the collar device (the side that faces the dog), so it is more difficult to turn on and off while our dog is wearing it (our previous collar had the on/off button on the underside). The training collar also doesn't seem to be as effective as the older Sportdog collar we had... with the old one, we rarely had to crank it above 4 for proper results, while this collar we are sometimes setting it to 8-9 for our dog to respond. Finally, the beeper for us is pretty much non-functional, unfortunately, which is our biggest issue. It could be the manner in which our dog moves or hunts, but when set to beep only when he is on point, it beeps continuously unless he starts running. He's a slow grouse dog, so this could be a non-issue for hunters who have big running dogs, but for us, it doesn't work as designed. The training collar still works fine, it is just disappointing we spent so much more money on a collar we don't like as much as the entry level Sportdog we originally had.

Best beeper/training collar on the market, prefer it over Tri-Tronics/Garmin.
Very nice collar, easy to operate, although programing could be easier, build seems sturdy, feels good in hand. Although priced higher than the Garmin Delta Upland (that has bark collar mode), I prefer the analog controls, build seems better than the Delta's digital, and the 1875 is quicker to change stem settings, excluding changing modes. For grins had my son drive down the road to see how the range was, we confirmed almost 2 miles, which is much further than the Garmin Delta sport. Have not experienced delay like previous reviewer about beeper not turning off soon enough, so maybe there has been a software update. This is a better unit than the Delta upland, I suspect Garmin is undercutting the SD1875 in price hoping that price and the bark collar feature, (that does not seem to work for a lot of dogs) will tip there way in the market. Personally, I have been a Tri-Tronics guy in the past and this is my first Sport-Dog unit, but I like it a lot so far.

Works fine BUT
I own 2 SD 1850's and this collar works fine exept when the dog is is run point mode it doesn't stop beeping when the dog moves after a moving target right away. If the dog starts to run it wil stop but if the dog starts to walk it wont stop beeping right away. I use it it training and on 2 trips to South Dakota with the same results. I contacted SportDog and they sent 2 different beepers, no change. The stimulator part of the collar works great. And I really like the vibrate or tone features of the collar. This allows you to give warning to the dog that a shock will follow if the command isn’t obeyed. Would I buy another one? probably

not happy for the money, beepers flaky
First beeper DOA, customer service phone line disruption made calling for warranty painful and long. Big mistake to not return through amazon. New beeper took weeks to arrive... -1 starAfter 3 uses the next beeper won't hold a charge, going to have to warranty again if not to late. -1 starLocate and run mode are fixed and not reprogrammable, even though when not interested in using beeper with a second collar there are unreachable functions (You do not have enough buttons for vibe, nick, cont, and tone). Because having one more button somewhere (1825) or allowing reprogramming locate (1875) isn't rocket science. -1 star. I have a camo 1825 w/o its own remote for fowl I lack one function at any given time, but don't care for the beeper functions.Other than that I like these better that tri tronics, which just plain look and feel like cheap crap and are really expensive for the functionality/range when I was shopping.I was really happy with an 1825 at first but this upland addition after I lost my first remote has been a disaster and I'll be looking at Garmin et al in the future.

So far so good!
This is my first e-collar and I have only had it for a month. Spent a fair bit of time reviewing the various models. Purchased it for my 5 month old GSP and so far the unit has worked great. Fits well given her age, easy to program, good battery life, and I can't believe how well the dog is responding. Can't wait to get her in the field looking for birds. Controls are easy to handle in your hand and construction is solid. I have not tried multiple dogs on the collar so can't comment on that. You have to turn the unit on before putting the collar on the dog but this hasn't really been an issue. Would definitely recommend.

Great customer support
Great product. Unfortunately the beeper didn't work out of box, but SportDog quickly resolved this issue and sent me a replacement with no questions or hassle. Very happy

This rig is great. No issues with getting it set up
This rig is great. No issues with getting it set up, put on the dog or to use both in training and in the field.I think one of the best features is the matched beeper to the remote. Being able to turn it off and on remotely, means that I don't have to over-control my dog when we are returning to the truck, just touch a button and the motion sensor is turned off. Unlike some other beepers I have seen used by my buddies. Shame I don't think this is a current product anymore and thank you Amazon for the ability to scavenge some leftover stock someone wants to sell and I wanted to buy!

this collar really performs.
This collar has made a world of difference to my Brittany ,Scooter. He is able to hunt and quarter out front of me all day. When his natural intensity or prey drive becomes too much a level 3 nick brings him into line. A life saver when coyotes are trying to draw him away.Great quality easy to use. Great range. Waterproof and perfect on my 35 lb hunting pard.I highly recommend this collar.
