Its lite weight and easy to hold for long walks. The compass works when you hold the stick juuussst right which is typical of the button compass. It would work in pinch though have a main compass of better quality and don't think of it as holding up for years - check it from time to time. Same for the thermomiter - its off by +5 degrees pretty consistently which means you can get an idea though I don't need it to know if I'm comfortable my body tells me that. A nice to know if you journal or record parts of your hikes.Don't hike without essentials - a knife, a lighter, a water source (canteen or bottle), a compass, tissue, and in my case, a walking stick. They truely do increase your stamina over longer hikes - and a nice lite walking stick is preferred over heavy. This one is that.

This is the second of these exact walking sticks that I have purchased. The first one I got was AMAZING (5 stars). It was perfect for me. It lasted a year until it unfortunately broke when it got stuck in some ice. I ordered another (this one), for me, it is a good walking stick but not nearly as nice as my previous one.This one is much thinner, lighter, and feels significantly less sturdy. I was disappointed when I got it, and while I use it on every walk, it is not nearly as nice as the previous one I owned.

Terrific buy. Nice and light weight. Very sturdy. My boyfriend had a stroke, shattered hip and fractured back and he uses it all the time. He had to change the leather strap to a cloth strap just because it pinched his skin a bit.

Looks good to me although i'm wondering if i could sand and carve stuff in it.... If the finish layer is toxic when sanded off... Idk how to ask though

Excelente calidad para el precio, sin duda un producto artesanal. Poco práctico al no poder doblarse pero cumple con su función perfectamente.
