Are they supposed to actually pedal and it go if no one is standing pushing behind the child? Ours stays in place...

Hello, There is a manual that was included that will show you how the engage and disengage the pedals. The button in the center of the wheel needs to be pushed in to engage or disengage. If you are pushing the Tricycoo 4.1, the pedals should be unlocked. Does it come with a foot platform for children who can't reach the actual pedals

Yes, my daughter didn't reach them at first but there are foot pedals.
