as advertised works well enough for 10 years.

I bought this sanitary lubricant for relubricating my new slicer after cleaning and reassembly. 4 ounces doesn't sound like a lot, and the tube doesn't look that big in the photo. Rest assured, it's HUGE; a lifetime supply for home users! The tube is fully 6" long, not counting the cap.This is a food-grade grease that's USDA-approved for incidental food contact. It's clear white, odorless, and about the consistency of Vaseline, maybe a little softer. It's clean, non-staining, and stable in long-term storage, unlike vegetable, olive or tropical oils that soon turn rancid. I've found it also works well in our Kitchen Aid stand mixers and the O-rings in marinade injectors.

Lubricates food grade grease as expected! Minimal amount needed to perform, the slicer is always ready when needed.

This product appears to be an effective, food safe lubricant. We use the gel to lubricate the moving parts of the brew unit on our automated espresso machine. However, Amazon does an unacceptable packaging job with this product. The gel is contained in a metallic type tube, e.g, think toothpaste. Amazon ships this product without a box or any type of protective packaging, merely in a thin envelope. As a result, the two shipments that we have received of this product have sustained moderate damage in the shipping process causing some leakage of the gel. Amazon can and should do better.

Works like a charm as expected. Coats well, no odor, no taste as advertised. However, the grease oozed from the folds at the bottom of the steel tube before or during shipment. It was a mess to open.
