Cengage Learning Biochemistry

Despite the description mentioning "the accompanying OWL", OWL does NOT come with this product. If I had known, I'd have bought a used book, and not paid the $300 for a new one needlessly.

Stopped using after first two weeks. Waste of money.Just glancing over this, the book takes paragraphs to say one thing, but never actually explains the thing.The questions in the back of each chapter are often not spoken about or explained either.This is a perfect example of why I never use books in courses. The paragraphs are noisy and take forever to say one thing, or nothing at all. Very inconcise. The end of chapter work is always beyond what is being taught and usually don't appear in the chapter.I will finish biochem with an A, no thanks to this book.

I used this book for a one quarter biochemistry class at a community college. The book is good, with nice illustrations and interesting side articles. But some of the chapters are just horribly written. The chapters on molecular biology are almost impenetrable! Also, there’s a weird chapter on immunology which is not well written and has no place in the book. I would honestly look for a better book. This one will suffice, but I’m sure there’s better out there.
