Better Than Most
These are very durable colored pencils. With this assortment of 48 colors you definitely have a wide variety of colors to choose from which is great. These blend very well. These also sharpen very easily if you own the Staedtler Double Hole Manual Sharpener. The trick to sharpening colored pencils is this .... If you are right handed then you need to hold and rotate the Sharpener with your right hand and hold the pencil still with your left hand. Never hold and rotate the pencil with your right / dominate hand. With these pencils being triangular shaped it's very easy to feel how far you have went/rotated the Sharpener. Ok, now with the negative opinion on these pencils. The only down fall to these colored pencils is that their not as soft, vibrant, or blendable as the Prismacolor Colored Pencils. But for these Staedtler Pencils being only half the price these are worth every penny. I will keep these pencils but I will definitely buy the Prismacolor Pencils in a few days. And to let everyone know, the Prismacolor Colored Pencils are usually so soft it effects their durability. It's very hard to sharpen them without the tips breaking off but if you have a great Sharpener you have a better chance of enjoying them.

I love all the different colors
I'm going to give two reviews... One from me and one from my husband. For my review, it will be directed towards to people that have hand, arm & neck strength/problems due to health issues. My husband doesn't have the health problems that I do, so his review will be for those that have NO health issues.I love all the different colors, BUT I do NOT like the pencils very much when using them to color, because I feel like they require me to have to use a lot of pressure to get the color I want for my picture. That causes me a lot of pain and it's not worth using the pencils even though I love the colors. My husband has a totally different review. He loves these pencils all the way from the colors to using them. So basically I guess it depends on your health if you feel like you can handle the extra pressure to color with to get the desired look for your picture.

Best color pencils on the market
I have been using these colored pencils for a very long time. Easy to color with, easy to blend, and to sharpen them since they are odd shaped just get a sharpener that has the pencil size sharpener on one side and a bigger sharpener on the other side works perfectly

Super Pencils
Staedtler are a very good brand of pencil and definitely value for money. I was just extremely disappointed that the box was damaged so is no good to store the pencils in.

I like that you get a lot of pencils and variety
I like that you get a lot of pencils and variety. I don't really use colored pencils as my main medium so I probably don't know what I'm talking about but I just wish the colors were deeper. Then again, if you are an actual artist, you probably know more about how different types of pencils are supposed to come out. I just use these for occasional coloring or when I am designing ideas things that will become art pieces of other media.

Best color pencils for this price
I have always liked the quality of Staedler products since I've used them growing up in India. I bought these pencils hoping they would be better than Crayola and we would be able to color detailed adult coloring books. These pencils are far better than I was expecting. The triangular shape (typical of Staedler pens and pencils) makes these easy to hold, pressure changes allow you to create shading, and they are easy to blend into different colors for shading. We like these so much that we have already gifted them to to several friends.

Great pencils for the price
It's ridiculous how expensive some colored pencils can be, but these are great for the price. Prismacolor pencils are gross; they leave chunky residue behind and they don't fill in great and yet they're 50 bucks for a 14-pack. Get these to start with. It has all the colors you need.

Nice, but lead just wasn’t as smooth as I would like
I’m kinda picky about my penceil crayons-generally I prefer a softer lead and smoother coloring, so personally I was a bit disappointed with these. I love staedtler for most things but these to me were kinda ...scratchy? I just don’t like the way they look on paper. They’re great for not breaking and such and for younger ones who are learning to hold a pencil properly but itherwise I’m not really a fan.

Great gift for the aspiring artist - good beginner set!
My kids are interested in sketching and drawing - this is a good beginner set for them to practice technique.

Not Staedtler's Fault But Amazon's
Staedtler has a pretty solid reputation for their products and this is not their fault. I got this beautiful set of pencil crayons as a Birthday present for my granddaughter and had bought some How to Draw cute books to add along with it and a diary for her to doodle up. Well, right from the moment I opened the box, the damages to the pencil crayon box were both obvious and saddening. The front cover was very badly torn, the lid was unsealed and also damaged. No way to send it as a gift. Thanks to COVID-19, we are doing our Christmas and her birthday present exchange early before any lockdown, so there is something for her to unwrap. This won't make it and I am, to say the least, very disappointed. Nothing else in the shipment had any damage, not even soft cover books. How could an Amazon representative even place this in the box looking like this, and at this particular time of the year when many items are gifts? Have never been so let down by Amazon before. :(

Disappointed
Staedtler has a good name and I expected more from these pencils. The pigments are weak and the leads are hard and scratchy. The pencils do not have color numbers or names on them. I’m looking for another set to replace those.

Good pencils. Worth the money
So first of all,. These are well made pencils. However they are not perfect. I think for the money they are worth it,. But I would only recommend for those who know how to use pencils like Crayola first. These are not for first time users. Imho
