At one point in my life, I had 8 aquariums in my apartment—nuts about the hobby. I cut down quite a bit because my new obsession is houseplants; I have 3 now in my living room. When my friend offered me a free axolotl baby, I couldn’t resist. The main reason I haven’t allowed plants and fish/other animals to take over my bedroom is because that is my quiet and dark cave for when I sleep (I work at home nights, and so with a chronic disease, I have to sleep a lot during the day). Well, axolotls are great because they require no heater or light (they live in cold mountain streams that are murky), but they do need filtration and good oxygenation. I have gone through a lot of air pumps in my life that eventually got problems with the rubber mufflers and then the vibration could drive you mad. This one has been great. We barely hear the motor at all, only the bubbles, as in the video. Somebody in another review complaint that it wasn’t even enough to power the devices for a 20 gallon tank, and I don’t understand that because I have a 20 gallon tank (a high one, too) and both a bubbler and a sponge filter. I love the adjustment knob, but I have the knob turned all the way to the lowest setting and it’s powerful enough for both. Maybe that person is using an air bubble wand that is too long or has a clog? At any rate, it has not been my experience at all and I love this. I can compare it to maybe 20 pumps that I have gone through in the past. It has been quieter than all of them so far, although I cannot speak to longevity… I have only been cycling the tank for two weeks so far. I’m definitely a fan now and I’m thinking of buying a second one.

Best air pump ever, strong ultra quiet performance. You'll hardly even know it's running.

I placed the air pump inside my aquarium stand cabinet in top of the styrofoam packing it shipped in. On full flow, you CANNOT hear it outside the cabinet! It drives my two air stones with incredible air flow. BYW, the air flow is adjustable if you want less output.

Have had this pump for close to a year now. I run two airstones and keep it on max output. That being said I've had ZERO issues and this thing is very quiet for the amount of bubbles it produces.

The only sound you can really hear is the bubbling of the sponge filter. I’m giving it 4 stars until it’s been running for 6 months. So far, it was wellllll worth the money to not hear that annoying hum that most pumps produce.

This pump is very quiet and compact. I had some extra air line tubing and stone diffusers so I only ordered the pump. If you need the whole setup make sure to order a bundle or order your tubing and diffuser from somewhere else. The output is adjustable, but I don't think the change is that much. But for my purposes it works perfectly. I especially like that it has two outputs so I don't have to split any lines.

I searched all over for the most quiet air pump I could possibly find. Went through so many because I just cannot stand that sound they make. Well I finally found one that is so quiet I can barely tell its even on! And its powerful too and adjustable air flow. So many air pumps being advertised as being "quiet" but they are not! This one is the only one I found that is really quiet. Also a tip I found out about air pumps. If they are placed above the aquarium and not below or on the side of them that also helps keep them running quieter.

I usually do not right reviews on products I buy, but I felt I needed to on this one. The pump itself work good. The issue is the hose that connects to the pump. It popped off while I was standing in front of it. I reconnected it and made sure it was in all the way. Then about 3 days later it popped off again at 3:30 in the morning and flooded my kitchen. Then my filter went out due to a low water level. If you buy this, I would suggest securing the hose with a hose clamp or a zip tie.

Bought this for my larger community tank. I run it from inside the cupboard of my aquarium stand and it is very quiet. It powers two large air stones without issue and hasn’t quit yet!

Just set it up today, so don't know about longevity. However, I wish I had bought it sooner. It's sooo much quieter than my previous air pump even on maximum (video). It has two outlets, so it's noisy if you only use one. I attached another "dummy" tube, and again, it's sooo quiet. It would be nice if it was smaller though, as 3"x6"x3" is pretty big.

Better than other reputable brand. Effective and no noise... Simply amazing

Flows well and is quiet.

It is quiet! But i had hoped that it would have more output. I have two small 10gal tanks and it's just enough on maximum to run two sponge filters.
