Amazon Basics Retractable Cable Lock, Blue/Black, 1-Pack

I wanted a decent lock for my metal shed which has a door with small lock holes. This item is perfect for that purpose. The loops fit through the holes and the body and combination mechanism of the lock are really robust. The four number combination is much more resistant to a 'try every combination' than a three number lock. Obviously the wire on the lock would not stand up to bolt cutters, but will deter a more casual attempt at larceny.

I bought 2 of these. An almost identical model with different branding is available elsewhere. It is quick and easy to use. Of course, someone could easily cut the cable with a decent pair of wire cutters, and they could smash the lock itself with a hammer, but this is not intended to be a high security lock. It is to discourage pilfering and mischief. My wife and I use these to secure helmets to the motorbike when it is parked. You can adjust the length of cable before locking it, so an additional benefit is that if a helmet is knocked off the seat, it won't fall to the ground. The cable is also long enough to thread through the sleeve of a jacket if you want to leave it with the bike. A useful gadget. If someone turns up who is determined and equipped to break this lock, they could just as easily slash the seat, or push the bike over, or whatever. You can't completely eliminate malice and idiocy.

Looks good and simple to use. Works like a tape measure and rolls up and can be used to locks bikes, luggage, anything up. Not overly strong because it’s lightweight but it will put an opportunistic thief off

Nice-sized cable lock with combination.Easy to use, with clear instructions on setting your own combination.Seems to be quite sturdy, has a nice chunky feel to it and the cable is a decent thickness so I think it will work well as a deterrent to the casual thief.At around half the price of branded locks it is great value.Definitely worth the money.

The lock had worked very well for a few weeks - up until it did not. It then failed to open after a cafe stop. Luckily the cafe owner lent me a pair of scissors (the best item he had) and 30 minutes later I had cut through the cable and released my bike from my clubmates. A nice concept but needs to be more reliable than this product

Les instructions sont claires, je l’ai utilisé lors de mon voyage en Europe pour rattacher mes 4 bagages ensemble en attendant sur le bord d’un quai de train. C’est assez dissuasif pour un voleur sportif qui tenterait de partir avec un de mes bagages. Je compte aussi m’en servir cet automne pour barrer nos 2 vélos devant la vitrine du café où je vais régulièrement. Ce n’est pas un gros câble mais je garde quand même un oeil dessus au travers la vitrine du café. Un cadenas léger, extensible (36 po.) et très compact. Bravo

I bought this to use in my office for a supply closet that the key got lost. Drilled 2 small holes in the door and the lock works great. Easy to set up and work with a very sturdy cord.

La forma aiuta a tenerlo anche in tasca senza problemi, come utilizzo è intutitivo ( dopo aver letto il manuale ) . Utilizzabile in diverse occasioni per assicurare oggetti per un breve periodo o in maniera estemporanea: caschi moto, borsoni al mare, zaini, trolley., anche giacconi o giubbotti di pelle. Il cavo è sottile e ha la punta smussata si riesce perfino a farlo passare negli anelli zip dei giacconi o degli zaini. Va da se che non è un "mezzo forte", è un deterrente. Detto questo in viaggio , in montagna, in moto, al mare è risultato utilissimo. :)
