The handles are thick and durable synthetic leather.The material it is made of is cross woven pattern so it is extremely durable and lightweight. Between the handles and the material that this is made out of it is extremely sturdy and I can pack it full of toys or a heaping load of laundry and not have to worry about too much bending or it collapsing. The double handles makes it easy to carry without dropping. It folds down easily so that it is a great hamper for travel or for a college student also. The inside is easy to clean and is reinforced with a plastic liner that is extremely simple to insert. This gives the extra support and also helps keep it clean. The bottom zippers on so it is easy to fold for storage and take apart. The design is awesome and sure to match a lot of decor. Overall this is a great laundry hamper that has many uses!
