Red Wagon Helper
Radio Flyer Classic Red Wagon When shopping for a "little red wagon" for my needs, I wanted to know what the dimensions of the inside of the wagon were. This I could not find. Here are the ones for this wagon: INSIDE OF WAGON (the carrying area)-- Length 33 1/4 inches (tight fit); Width -- 14 1/2 inches (tight); Outer Length of wagon --36 1/2" (outer "lip to lip" of wagon); Width -- 17 1/2" (outer "lip to lip" of wagon); Whole Length of wagon from outer edge at rear to tip of "axle" -- 38 1/2 inches (Tongue, aka: handle, folds nicely under wagon -- total length with tongue extended approx. 73". The sides are 4" high. I am a 63 yr. old woman with several health issues. I assembled this myself (easy to do if you like assembling things like jigsaw puzzles, etc). I believe the materials in this wagon are very good and durable (of course, time will tell), almost all metal except for tires (ditto). These are not the air filled tires of some versions. The tires are large and solid (heavy) and would appear to take a fair amount of wear. I have not found any sharp areas that might prick a child. I love the extra length on the handle as bending is a problem for me. I have already used this for hauling my groceries into the house from my vehicle. I frequently buy gallon jars of water. This will carry the ten jars in with a little room left over (not much). They say a gallon of water equals 8 pounds. So this carries a fair amount of weight. If I am not buying water, this carries all of my groceries. Sometimes I put a plastic container in it to enable me to stack more groceries in one trip. I also use it for carrying my Chihuahuas on walks. I put their crate (1 crate) into the wagon and off we go. It moves easily on sidewalks. Don't know about any other surfaces. I use it to move things inside the house from room to room (medium sized containers full of pictures that I am scanning to computer which are too heavy for me to carry; larger plants which I relocate from time to time, things that I move from storage and back again, I have even moved an older tv on it -- setting it on plywood on the wagon to do so, etc). So, I am very pleased to have this as it enables me to stay a little more independent and not have to rely upon help from others as much. I think parents would like this for their children. However, the over-sized air filled tires may work better for long walks with children, depending upon the surface you are traveling (then you might need to be concerned about the tires going flat???). I like that this is almost all metal. I keep it on the back porch out of the weather. All metals exposed to the elements will eventually rust. The paint job is excellent and appears reasonably durable. I gave this 4 stars for durability because I have not had it long enough to determine this but it appears to be very durable. I would like to point out that the customers who complain about the smell are absolutely correct! The tires will smell up the whole house quickly if inside for too long. After a while, I cannot stand the smell in the house. I am hoping the smell will dissipate after a while. I feel this wagon is worth keeping ..... but not inside the house. I have enjoyed this so far. I hope this helps someone trying to decide which wagon to get. 08/06/2010 - I set the wagon on its side with the tires facing the sun on my front porch. I left it like that for a couple of weeks. At the end of that time, no more smelly tires! I keep this in the house and love its usefulness.

This is my little Red Wagon!
I took ownership of my Son's little Red Wagon when he moved out of the house. His Grandparents had bought it for him. I would put my bags of groceries in it from the trunk of the car and wheel it to the back door when we did not have an attached garage. I used it for many other chores as well. That wagon must have lasted over 30 years! Guess you can say it was built well. I used to tease my Husband, cause he has all these "Manly Work Tools" and when I would go to get the Wagon for me to use for something, I would find he had it filled with "his stuff" Well, the wagon eventually got rusted out (when he left it out in the rain from time to time) and the wheels went crooked, he said its time to throw it out. Well we were married just over 42 years and Christmas was coming up and he asked me to make my Christmas list out. After being married for that long, there really wasnt a whole lot I needed or wanted. I missed my Red Wagon though. So, I put that on my Christmas List. He laughed and said, I am not going to buy you a Red Wagon for Christmas, I said, "Okay, fine, if you dont buy it for me, I will buy it for myself". Well, when Christmas came around in 2012, when I woke up on Christmas morning, there was the Little Red Wagon under the Christmas Tree with a big red bow on it. LOL!! He got the biggest Hug from me and we laughed. I treasure that wagon, it has come in so handy, we have a very long driveway and now I put all the Trash Bags in the Wagon and pull the wagon down to the end of the very long drive to put into the Garbage Container. My Husband passed away a few months later and now everytime I use or see that wagon, I think of that Christmas and the wonderful man who gave it to me and it makes me smile. Now, its a very special "Little Red Wagon" .

Love it but arrived damaged.
Wagon arrived bent on one rail. Won't return it as that is just too much work so put it together and will use as is. For price and reputation would not have expected this. Love it otherwise.

Needs washers for assembly
Overall I really like this wagon. The top outer edge was slightly bent from shipping but I was mostly able to bend it back into shape. Things to know: wagon comes with screws and nuts but no washers. The nuts cannot be screwed tight because they have a smaller edge on one side that stops them from being tightened. I added washers and was able to get the screws tight that way, otherwise the wagon would have been put together too loosely. The only other complaint I have is that the handle does not come back over the wagon itself. This might not matter to you but when I was a kid this was very important because it enable steering for a child that was riding in the wagon while being pushed from behind or riding down a hill. Probably this new design is on purpose to prevent accidents but it is a feature that was really cool to me and my 6 siblings, oh the thrills of almost dying as a kid!

Wagon loads of fun
It's easy to assemble and my kid loves it. Primarily used to take my kid around the block and the neighborhood. It's easy to maneuver and has great clearance to go over obstacles and steps; solid construction and looks durable ... except for the play in the handle arm and front axel connection. I would recommend it as a solid buy and if you get bored there are plenty of ways to modify it to your lifestyle... just search "custom radioflyer wagon" ... and mostly slanted towards gearhead dads 😉

a classic!
This is a great wagon ... wonderful for grandchildren transporting ... it is very sturdy and stable ... brings back childhood memories of the wagon! I recommend it above all others. Only issue was Amazon Prime itself in that it did not deliver when it said it would --- two days late! Fortunately I did not need it immediately so it was no issue --- but, if you can't deliver as you suggest you can --- drop it!
