I just got the red ground bag and it does not taste like what i had innthe resteraunt, do i need to get the whole bean?or a different flavor?

What finer restaurants carry, is a fine grind of coffee that is also a Douwe Egberts  product. It comes in a gold foiled 8.8 oz. package, and 5/EXCELLENT in white bold lettering in the lower part of the front panel. There is a round brown and gold '1-way vent', (to control out gas), built into and above the words previously described. On either side of this vent is a purple colored band with the +40 over AROMA*  printed in gold on the purple band to the right of  the 'vent'.  It is more expensive, about $8 to $9 each. I try to buy 2 or 3 at a time, and depending on where, (and how much you buy at one time), you get it (on the internet), shipping could be free.  It has an extremely low bitterness and amazing flavor.  I have not had the Aroma Rood (Red package), but I have been told by the person that got me interested in this brand, (and version that I buy), that  Aroma Rood has a more robust if not sharper taste to it.  If you do get this version of 5/EXCELLENT with gold foil packaging, get paper filters. You will need these to help control  NOT getting coffee grounds into your coffee carafe and, eventually your fresh cup of coffee. A regular coffee ground basket will not catch all of the fine grind that this version is created from.

is this a dark roast coffee? My machine only takes medium and light roasts. thanks

This is the best medium roast coffee we drink.  We get it in whole bean.  Hmmm! I've never heard of a coffee machine that won't function based on roast. Is it organic?

No, it not, but we love this coffee and would choose it over any organic coffee we have tried. The Dutch have a very unique roast and flavor that is different from Italian, Swedish or German coffees. This is our favorite.

What is the expiration date of this coffee?

The expiration date varies… as existing stock is depleted, newly arriving stock has an expiration date further into the future. I don’t specifically recall what my expiration dates were but the coffee was fresh and easily used up long before the expiration date..
