great for my uncoordinated toddler!
First of all, I am very grateful for the reviews I read before purchasing these cushions. I felt very confident in my choice to purchase these for my toddlers. These have been awesome. We have had two of them for over a year and a half now and they are still going strong. We have ordered from AppleRound before and have always been pleased with their products. When you pump them up, they go a little more round than I was anticipating, they looked like they'd be more flat on top, but that hasn't effected much. My 22 month old (at the time) took to it right away and could balance like a champ. The 3 yr old struggled to balance at first (he's awkward and uncoordinated, so it wasn't surprising). It took a few months before he was comfortable balancing on it with his feet. That alone was great progress for him! Now the two of them (4&3 yrs) hop around on them like agile frogs (or something). It's second nature for them to walk from one to the other and play random games with them. They are fun for them to just sit on as well. We have a homeschool pre-k group who comes to my house on rotation once a month. The kids love it when it's their turn to sit on the cushion during circle time. And it keeps their butts on the ground instead of running around so I'm quite happy about that! The Cushions are basically permanent fixtures in our living room. When Grandma visits she likes to stand on them to massage her feet (ew?) and the boys like to challenge the neighbors to see who can balance the longest on them. One can hold a pretty heavy adult (over 200lbs) and not bust open, so that's nice! They make a great ice-breaker as well :) My baby is currently enjoying them as well. He is climbing on them, trying not to roll off of them, drooling on them, and exploring the textures! PROS: -can handle a lot of weight (200lbs +) -teaches balance for toddlers -great safe play for baby -no off-gassing -low maintenance -massages grandma's feet CONS: -If you look at the pictures, there is a dent in the side that doesn't go away. It's no big deal, more of an aesthetic issue. It doesn't seem to effect the functionality.

Great alternative to the whole ball chair
I had been using the full on ball chair at my desk at work for a two to three years- a couple of other people had got them too after trying mine out. Then they moved us to a new building with new cubes, new chairs and a lot of rules guaranteed to lower morale and thwart productivity. I didn't even try to take the ball chair. Then I saw this on sale for Black Friday - I didn't even know they existed and was excited to find it. Unbelievably it arrived in only one day so I was ready bright and early Monday morning to pump this up and place it on my new, regular office chair. It pumped up easily with the pump provided and now, most of the way through the second week of sitting on it for eight hours a day, it is still as full as when I first pumped it up. One side has bigger nubs for if you want to stand on it while you work. I haven't tried that yet but I do sometimes work standing up and will try it next time I do. The nubs on the sitting side are smaller and you don't notice them at all. It works very well as a wobble cushion because it is smaller than the area your backside would normally cover and stands a bit over an inch higher than the seat itself. It provides some work for your core to do as you are correcting your balance, almost imperceptibly sometimes, every time you move. Most of the time you don't even notice and I forget it's there. But when you pay attention to what's happening, the need to constantly correct is definitely effective. I prefer the ball chair - now at home and still in daily use - but this is a very viable alternative, at a great price.

For the price, great product and option
I was a little skeptical, but I actually really like this product. I found it to be a better and less expensive option than the full balls, or the "ball chairs". I purchased this initially because I spend much of my day sitting at a desk for my job, coupled with lower back issues, and was looking for a solution to help offset the sitting and help with my back pain since standing or a full ball aren't really feasible. This popped up and I figured for the price, it was worth a try. It's pretty nice. I can definitely feel a bit of a difference just in a few days. I have some notes based on my experience for any one who has, or is looking at purchasing this, as well: 1. If you're looking for something to "bounce around" or "roll" with, this will not do that. It's not a full ball. However, I have found that I am able to rock and move around, still, so that I can flex and stretch my lower back muscles a bit while sitting. 2. Don't over-inflate it. It did not come with clear instructions (the only thing I didn't like), but I found that if you inflate it but it still has a little give to it that it's more comfortable and sits better on the chair. 3. Use fabric or an old t-shirt over it when sitting- There are big ridges for standing on it, but even the smaller bumps on the side that you sit on aren't totally comfortable. I had an old t-shirt in my office that matched the color of my chair, so I double folded and laid it across the cushion. It "camouflages" the cushion a little, and I find it more comfortable to sit on. I plan to use some thin padding (batting from quilts) and make a "cushion" to lay over it that's a little thicker down the road. The bumps are not comfortable, but it's an easy fix. 3. It will raise you up a little. If you have monitor stand or adjustable height monitor, or your chair adjusts, it's really easy to accommodate. My keyboard is on my desk since my desk don't have a tray to hold it. It helps me keep better form and posture when typing-- less flexed wrists-- which has helped. 4. I did not have issue with it leaking-- yet at least. I'm not sure if the way you inflate it may cause issues or not since you have to kind of stab the needle in. There is information on the box for the company (I saved it just in case) because they appear to offer a replacement or a refund option. This gives me a little more confidence in the product, though I cannot speak on how their customer service is since I haven't had to use it. 5. It will be different. Much like a ball, you may feel more sore the first couple of days because you're engaging your core muscles a bit more while sitting on it. I have found it's loosened by back a bit, and helps me with my overall posture. If it gets a little uncomfortable, though, you can always take it off and stash it. It's much easier than deflating or stashing a larger ball-- can sit it under your desk or in a drawer if needed.

Works perfect for my standing desk station.
I ordered this stability cushion to use with my standing desk at work. I found that my heels would really hurt at the end of the work day from standing on my feet without which I thought was strange because I could hike all day and not be in that much pain. I thought about getting a anti-fatigue mat but then wanted something that would make me work a little harder and challenge my balance a bit. Originally I was going to put in under my Endo board platform so that I could work on my balance while I work and shift my weight continuously from right to left and toe to heel. I could not fit the board in my tote to bring to my office so I just started standing directly on this balance cushion and it has really worked. It keeps me balancing and using my lower leg muscles all day and I notice that my feet and ankles are no longer swollen at the end of each work day from standing because the constant muscle action helps keep the fluids from pooling in my lower legs. This really does make your legs work and they will get tired but my heels have not been hurting so that is really all I care about. I can see how some people would not want to work their legs this much while working all day but I look at it as all day balance training for my surfing and ski/snowboarding. The cushion came with a hand pump with a needle insert and it took me a few minutes to get the needle through the valve mostly because I was worried about puncturing it. Once I got the needle through the valve it pumped up quickly and has not deflated at all after standing on it all day for a few weeks now.

Great product and responsive customer service
As a physical therapist, I have taught patients to use similar products, in an out patient setting, to help their balance, co-ordination and proprioception. I am rehabbing a foot injury and bought this one so I could do my own rehab at home. It arrived quickly - slightly deflated as expected - but I was irritated to find the promised pump was not in the box. I contacted the company, Jack got back to me within a couple of hours and gave me partial refund and had researched on Amazon a pump for me! I am very pleased with the quality of the product- which works as expected and I am very very impressed with the quality of customer care for this company! Thank you ๐ Jack!

Love it
My chiropractor suggested that I use this item for my feet. Based on my experience so far, I love it. It feels really good on bare feet. I think it strengthens your ankles and improves your balance.

Good Tool for Hyperactivity
I bought this for my kindergartner who is now in 2nd grade. My son struggles with sensory issues and hyperactivity. This wobble cushion really helped my active son when he was expected to stay in his chair and pay attention. His kindergarten teacher said when she would notice he was starting to misbehave she would give him the wobble cushion and it would help redirect his hyperactivity to wobbling on his chair. In 1st grade he didn't use it as much, but I believe it was because the teacher was not open to him using it. He's in 2nd grade now and he has been using it every day and the teacher said it does help, although it doesn't fit under his desk very well. I gave this 3 stars because it's not the perfect solution to help with hyperactivity in every situation, I don't believe there is one. This wobble cushion is a good tool to add to your tool box to help your child work through his hyperactivity and stress during school. It will take more tools than just this one to really help my child but I will keep this available for him as long as he will use it. PROS small easy to inflate thick rubber two different textures easy to transport to school easy to store at school does help with hyperactivity CONS can be used as a toy and not a tool, it will take practice and training may not fit under the desk as well if there isn't much space in-between the chair and the bottom of the desk to begin with Added October 2015: Further explanation for my 3 Star Rating. My son cannot sit on his cushion and still be able to have his legs under his school desk. He has told me that he doesn't like to sit on it at his desk for that very reason. I had him show me what was bothering him and when he sits on it he has to put his legs to one side in front of his desk and then turn his body towards his desk. One of the main uses of this cushion is to be able to use it on your chair while your legs are under a desk or table. I checked the legs on his desk and on his chair to see if I could adjust them so he could use his cushion comfortably but they can't. I'm sure this will not be the case with every school desk in every school. My son keeps his cushion in his desk until he is asked to sit on the floor and that's where he will use it. It has helped him a lot in that regard, but with him, he has need for better self-management while on the cushion. At times his cushion is used as a toy and it causes him to have way too much fun squirming around and knocking himself over. It would be nice for my son to be able to use his cushion while he is sitting at his desk because he spends a lot more time at his desk during school versus sitting on the floor. My 4th grader also has one of these cushions, in gray, but she refuses to use it because she does not like the texture. Even with these experiences, I still say this is a good tool to have in your active child's toolbox.

Happily recommend.
Perfect. No complaints at all. Bought this for sit ups to avoid grinding away my coccyx which I get from even the softest yoga/exercise mat. Needless to say it takes a bit more effort to get the sit up central and balanced but that's just a better core work out. Great for leg raises etc. Nice bright purple just as in picture. Have thrown it into the kitchen to stand on whilst washing up. May as well work on core strength with doing chores. Ending up using it for comfort when kneeling on hard floor sorting washing out too. Perfect little multi-tasking cushion. Looked around a fair bit at others before buying but very happy with purchase. Came with pump and required adapter. Hasn't got flat at all. Been a few months and still just as good as when it came out the box. Independent review as not one of the lucky folk that seem to get free stuff. Happily recommend

Brilliant product !
Bought for my daughter who is autistic and has a habit of rocking backwards and forwards on chairs . Brilliant product ! Mainly used on a chair but she also uses it on the floor too . Lovely bright pink girlie colour . Pump was very good but took a very long time to pump it up with it . Would definitely recommend this :)

Very durable
Puts up with a lot of abuse. Hoping this would help my child be less wiggly but it makes him more wiggly instead. Highly recommend for pregnancy, comfortable and ideal for positioning baby without much effort.
