Kenwood KSC-SW11 150W Underseat Active Subwoofer with Passive Radiator

I purchased this product from amazon one year back. I using my (kwid) car in india. Product sound quality is good till now also.it is a under seat subwoofer, that's why it don't waste car's boot space and delivered awesome sound.

Just finished fitting this and testing it. All I can say is that I'm extremely happy with the results. To put this into context, I am a semi-pro brass player and wanted some decent sound in my 1997 Land Rover Defender. An impossibility or so I thought. Standard LR speakers are awful so upgraded these and fitted some slightly larger speakers in home made built boxes at the rear of the Landy. Top and middle were fine but there was just no bass, hence looking for a sub. I'm no expert at audio/car electrics and so thought an active sub would suit me best. These units are built to go under a seat specifically but unfortunately this isn't possible in a Defender as there's no space and so mine is bolted to the back of the cubby box between the front seats facing back at the bulkhead - out of sight but still able to spread the sound. This is plugged into my Kenwood head unit and suddenly I had bass - plenty of it but not window shattering. After all, I am 42! More than happy with the sound without altering the EQ, the sub taking and automatically handling all below 125Hz. Anything above, going to the other speakers. The unit itself is about the size of a box of mansize Kleenex, but about 2cm shorter. it comes with mounting brackets, screws and with a wired remote which, when the sub is powered, lights up in a blue neon and gives you 2 dials and a switch. Top dial is for sub volume, second dial is for altering the frequency at which the sounds are automatically sent to the sub - from 125Hz and down (mine is set at the highest) and the switch is something to do with "phase' which I don't understand. Switch it one way and it sounds better than switching it the other way - easy ! This just plugs into the unit. Also included is a full wiring harness. Now here's where I had to play about a bit. The harness plugs straight into the unit - easy. From the harness: SPEAKER CABLES - the speaker inputs consist of female RCA connectors (red/white). I needed a male RCA to male RCA cable to therefore run from my head unit to the female RCA connectors (£10 - Halfords as I wanted it straight away). It DOES come with a set of male RCAs to push connector type things if your head unit could take this (mine couldn't). SWITCH CABLE - this is a blue and white cable, a similar one of which I have on the back of my head unit and just crimped the two together. This switches the sub on when the head unit is switched on, otherwise the amp would be on permanently and run the battery down. I think this goes to what used to be a terminal for an electric aerial i.e. when the head unit was turned on, the aerial would go up. Anyway - an easy fit. LIVE - this is a thick yellow cable and powers the active sub, connecting directly to the positive terminal of the battery. It has a 10 Amp fuse inline about 8 inches from the end. I had to shorten the cable (I'll explain why in a sec). EARTH - this is a black cable and is supposed to go to an earthing point somewhere on the chassis. Although I've read somewhere that the former is better, I just connected mine to the negative on my battery - job done. Bad point - the only thing negative is the length some of these cables are is excessive for my needs but may be better for others. It's a shame as the connectors are all on the ends of these cables. For instance, the yellow battery cable should run to your battery. For most, this will be under the bonnet and so will require a fair amount of cable. For me, the battery is under the passenger seat and so is about 18" away from the sub itself but I have a cable about 12' long. To shorten it, I had to cut a section out as I still needed the fuse and connector at the end of the cable, but again, managed this with crimps. I paid £99 for this and am more than happy for the price. My mate (who also has a Landy) has come and seen / heard it and now wants one for himself. I think, unless you want your teeth to rattle along with the windows, this produces more than enough bass for a car or van and that if like me, you just wanted a fuller sound and richer, stronger bass, this is a good buy. Je viens de monter ce subwoofer après une longue hésitation. Montage sur Aygo car j'avais mis une autoradio Android chinoise et son son manquait de basses. Si on veut bien le monter, il faut enlever le siège passager, la console centrale et l'autoradio. J'ai branché le fil bleu sur la sortie alim ampli de la radio, le jaune sur le jaune (+perm) de la prise autoradio et le noir sur le chassis un des boulons du support de levier de vitesse. A mon avis le jaune autoradio est suffisant en alimentation car le fusible derrière est de 15A alors que le sub est limité à 10A. Le résultat est une amélioration significative côté basses. C'est pas fait pour faire boîte de nuit même si ça secoue la voiture à volume max mais pour les gens qui veulent avoir un bon son à volume moyen c'est parfait. J'ai réglé le volume à 50% et ça suffit. J'ai acheté un câble RCA 2.5 d'Amazon pour faire la liaison avec les sortie OUT de la radio et visiblement ces sorties gèrent aussi le volume du son car j'ai pas besoin de régler le volume côté sub une fois le réglage fait. Je suis content de cet achat et je le recommande pour les personnes qui aiment écouter de la musique de qualité.

Ich möchte gleich das Nötigste vorweg nehmen! Bei meiner Lieferung fehlte leider das Montage-Zubehör, was bei mir zwar nicht tragisch war, aber dennoch unnötig! Habe sofort mit dem Verkäufer Kontakt aufgenommen und geschildert das diese Teile nun fehlen. Als Antwort bekam ich, das ich doch bitte eine eidesstattliche Erklärung abgeben soll um weiter fortfahren zu können. Hierbei dachte ich mir lediglich: "Geht's denn eigentlich nocht?!" Nun gut, wie erwähnt brauche ich das Montage-Zubehör nicht deshalb lasse ich dies nun auch bleiben. Jetzt aber mal zum Hier zu sehenden Gerät: Ich hatte bis dato immer große Autos und zuletzt hatte ich eine Mercedes C Klasse welche viel Platz und viele Möglichkeiten in Sachen Car-Hifi bietet! Es war eine Komplett Anlage von Audio System (kenner wissen das dies schon zur Oberklasse gehört) im Gesamtwert von Knapp 3.500€! Der Mercedes wich etwas kleinem und somit war leider absolut KEIN Platz mehr für irgendetwas davon. Es war ein 16er 2-Wege Frontsystem, 20er 3-Wege Hecksystem. (alles mit aktiven Frequenzweichen) Dann darf natürlich ein Ordentlicher Subwoofer nicht fehlen! Mit insgesamt 3 Endstufen, 2 Batterien, 2 Relais und 1 5Farad Powercap lieferte diese Anlage absolut bombastischen Sound mit richtig richtig viel Druck! und wie gesagt, alles Audio System. Nach langem hin und her habe ich mich dann doch überwunden mal einen dieser kleinen Aktivsubwoofer für mein kleines neues Fahrzeug zu holen da mir des Bass doch einfach fehlte. Einbau verlief problemlos und sogar recht flott, knapp eine Stunde (wenn man etwas übung hat) und das Teil sitzt startbereit an Ort und Stelle unter dem Fahrersitz. Hier kam nun die Überraschung!! Klar weine ich meinem alten System hinterher und Dieser Subwoofer in Verbindung mit einem 2-Wege Eton Frontsystem kommen nie an diese Leistung heran! ABER, hier stimmt alles, der Subwoofer erreicht einen Sauberen Pegel, er verzerrt nicht, clippt nicht und bleibt selbst bei hoher Lautstärke Konstant Stabil! Auch die Leistung und der Satte Kickbass sind absolut empfehlenswert! Zwar Spielt er Frequenzen unter 50Hz nicht mehr sonderlich Laut und auch bis 25 Hz ist keinerlei Bass mehr zu hören geschweige denn zu Spüren, das darf man allerdings nicht erwarten bei einem 20 Cm Aktivsubwoofer. Dennoch kann ich klar sagen das dieses Gerät jeden Cent wert ist! Werde mir selbst noch einen zweiten Kaufen der Dann unter den Beifahrersitz kommt! Klasse Kaufempfehlung an jeden der zum Frontsystem, in einem kleinen Fahrzeug, Etwas satten Bass haben will. Lediglich werde ich darauf achten, den Subwoofer nicht mehr bei Caraudio24 zu bestellen.

Great and compact little subwoofer. Takes up no space at all. Includes all wiring and great for factory sound systems to add that extra oomph that's missing without a subwoofer. Being a small unit it is limited in terms of deep bass but if you don't want to give up trunk space and like a stealthy install this is the one for you.
