Small and Just Perfect For Me
Love this hammer. I was needing a hammer with a small head to use with some tiny nails and tacks. My regular hammer was simply too large and I ended up hitting my fingers. This one is perfect. It's lightweight and has two small heads. I think one is magnetic but I haven't quite figured out which one yet. The handle is wood which I love and feels comfortable to hold. I can see myself getting lots of use out if this one. Great value for the money and I recommend it for anyone needing a hammer with a small head.

A serious, and honest review.
I am sure this hammer is great for the intended purpose. I however am a immature person that buys things for immature reasons. That being said, when you strike the magnetic end of the hammer crisply from the side with another metal object, the hammer makes a harmonic ring like a tuning fork. The first time I saw a hammer like this I was shown this trivial trick, and I knew I needed the tool. For all practical uses I have abused my tack hammer more than it deserves to be. I have marred the face of it hitting nails harder than any tack. All of that being said, the hammer works as a light finishing hammer, although that is not it's intended use. It also works as a toy for a person with a child's sense of humor. I would recommend this tool/toy to anyone, because it is cheap, and it is useful when you don't expect it. It is also fun to show your friends and family if you have the proper level of immaturity.

NOT magnetic
I needed tack hammer for a project I'm working on that requires some upholstery work, and bought this one specifically for the magnetic face, as I just couldn't see these fat, stubby fingers of mine holding a 1/2" tack straight while I got it started and wanted to have my left hand free to pull the fabric tight. Also, Estwing is a name that's been around even longer than I have. I've owned a few of their products over the years and always thought they made a quality product, so I didn't expect to be disappointed. But I was. First of all, the head wiggled a little bit on the handle. No big deal. A tap or two on the wedge would tighten that right up, and I don't expect perfection from a tool I paid less than $15 for. I made sure to stay away from the aluminum and copper tacks they had at my local hardware store and got some steel ones that would stick to the magnetic face on my new hammer. But when I went to use it I found that there's nothing at all magnetic about this hammer. It won't pick up the tacks I bought or even the 1/16" drill bit I used as a test to see if maybe my tacks were stainless steel or something. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. ***** UPDATE ***** Okay. I should have known, as a first-time upholsterer, that what I thought was a product flaw was just that I didn't know how to use the tool. The opposite (split) end is indeed magnetic, and holds my tacks just fine. I was expecting the solid hammer face to be the magnetic one. I still don't understand what the spit in the magnetic face is for but the hammer got the job I needed it for done.

Fertigung lief hier schief... Eastwing EMRWT 5 Oz / Taiwan Made
Was den EMRWT Tack Hammer angeht... nein.
