What is the max thickness (in inches) that can be placed in the frame?

This will not accommodate something 12x16 inches. The painting I wanted to use it for is 12x16 and is too large for the frame. I didn't notice the 11.81x15.75" measurement when I ordered, but if what you're framing is rigid, you won't get it in if it's larger.
