I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't compare to that. But these definitely have more caffeine than mountain dew-- I'm an avid mountain dew drinker and can tell the difference when I instead take a Vivarin, when I have an important meeting in the morning and I don't want to be yawning every 30 seconds. This pill definitely prevents yawning.
