Fit perfect, product as described. I will say installation on a 2006 Honda Civic is not easy as it must be done from under the car and bolts are not easy to access. As for the product, working great , fit great , and price is very reasonable compared to box store.

First of all, this is not a simple install for the DIY'r. But that is not the fault of this starter. Watching several videos will help you decide if you are capable of undertaking this job and also very useful tips from other installers. I used a combination of those methods but found that removing the front wheel of the car very beneficial. As for this starter, it is solidly built. I feel that the shipping packaging could have been a little tighter due to the weight of the product and the protruding mounts, but no significant harm. Starter has been installed for a month now and no issues. Gives a quick, strong crank. Very satisfied with the starter overall making it a good value. As a side note, for those considering OEM Honda, why pay more for a starter that prematurely failed to begin with? I feel the original starter should have lasted much longer. The starter on my Toyota is 8 years older with more mileage and rougher conditions than the Honda ever saw...but don't get me started (no pun intended...LOL).

1st of all the new starter works great. I had some hesitation on the cranking of my starter like if I had a weak battery but I replaced the battery about a year ago. Now it starts with full power just like a new car. It is a challenge to replace the starter on the Honda Civic. My is a 2009 sedan. If there is a tip to give it would be this. NEVER EVER tighten the upper bolt by using a rachet or power tools, if it’s at the wrong angle you will strip the inner threads of the hole. Believe it or not there is a way to enter the area from underneath above the Axle using your right hand and be able to use the tip of your fingers to ever so slightly turn the upper bolt so it will go in. If it won’t go in by using your fingers something is wrong. Tip is to lube the end of the bolt with oil to make it easier to go in. The Starter lower bolt can be tightened keeping the Starter flush. The upper ear opening of the Starter is much larger than the lower to give it enough clearance even if the lower bold is tight. The part is great a good deal but just keep in mind you will need a lot of patience replacing it. That is all on Honda engineers.

Direct replacement for the OEM starter on a 2009 Honda Civic. The installation is a bitch though, so make sure you've watched a few videos and are ready for the task. For the lower bolt and routing the starter in/out, go through the passenger side wheel well - you'll thank me later. Mine took close to 4 hours for the complete replacement. So far so good after 4 months. The car starts on a dime with this starter. I expect it to outlast the car at this point.

I was not expecting much for what I paid for and thats exactly what I got not much. Lasted me almost 6 months to the day. Don't buy this even of you're in a pinch. Its a waste of time and money.

Installed this on my old 2006 Honda civic a few months ago, and it's still working. Seems to be durable and a suitable replacement part. I was skeptical given the price point- and what that usually means. The only problem was the actual install itself, but everything fit well - it's just a bit of pain for a DIY.

I had problem starting up my car, and I thought of so many reasons that may be causing thr problem, so i looked up different kind of part that would fix a start up problem, and noticd this starter is the cheapest part to start with. I was looking around different website and comparing prices, found out this one on amazon has the lowest price with some good reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. It works like how it should be, started up the car immediately without any problem or unnormal sound. The installation is a bit challenging, I am not a mechicanic, but I was able to install it with some youtube videos and tool (much easier if your car was from the south with no rust).

My 2010 Honda Civic LX was having trouble starting, so I decided to change the starter motor after replacing the battery, starter motor relay, and affirming that the alternator had no issues. I chose the IRONTREE starter as it was the cheapest option and had the most positive reviews. Pros: 1) This starter motor fixed the issues my civic had with starting, so I don't have to worry about being stranded. The engine starts with more vigor than I remember it ever having. 2) This starter motor replacement was much more affordable than the Honda OEM starter. 3) The motor arrived quickly and was a direct replacement to the original starter. Cons: 1) As other reviews have mentioned. This install requires technical knowledge and a lot of time: ~6 hours for me. There are Youtube videos to help guide the process but the Honda engineers made accessing the starter much harder than it should ever have to be. 2) The rear bracket came bent from shipping at no fault of Irontree. I bent the bracket back into place, but damage to the part from shipping is never a good thing for reliability. This starter motor replacement was a necessary investment for my car, but due to the complexity of the install I would consider going to a shop next time. I also would probably use the OEM Honda starter if I could redo this install as it is realistically more reliable than this aftermarket part and because I hope to never have to repeat this install again.
