After trying and being disappointed with 3 other devices I wasn't hopeful at all but WOW this has proven me wrong, I live out in the middle of no where with no broadband, 4g sim (network is with EE) and it is the only way of me getting internet, my old router was giving me 1.2mbps everything was lagging, I'm now getting 40-60mbps I'm really impressed. This router also allows a USB hard drive to connect to it so you can share your media round the house it really is great and would recommend to anyone. Merry Xmas everyone

Purchased this product because my previous router (TP Link Archer MR600) was erratic and regularly had connectivity issues loading up webpages for TV apps, despite supposedly having a fast connection. The Netgear Nighthawk router has given me faster connection speeds and instant connectivity with webpages TV apps et cetera. It was also incredibly easy to set up and phone support was very helpful and very fast.

After weeks of dealing with Netgear technical support, the router has been returned to Amazon for a refund. The SIM card would often not be recognised in the router, though when placed in a phone works fine. This is after numerous Factory Resets, not just turning it off (over 100 during the 4 weeks!). So meant setting the router back up again, but this didn’t work all the time. I was using the router on 4G only, not with a broadband supplier, and it didn’t appear to cope with this (though as advertised it should). Checked with SIM provider to make sure everything was working their end, and went via second line support who confirmed this. After hours on hold trying to speak to Netgear technical support I finally got some emails in response. Their only solution was to try and install older Firmware or send back to Amazon for a refund. I don’t know if this was a one off, or an ongoing problem, but personally I wouldn’t waste your money as clearly there are lots of bugs and the 4G modem in the router appears flakey. From the WiFi side of things, it did cover the whole house, shame it didn’t have an internet connection half the time (this wasn’t due to the 4G signal in my area). Quick returns process through Amazon, and now purchased a different router from another Maker.

4g lte speed is quite slow comparing to other products on the market.

We could only get copper-wire internet in our area with an estimated 1 to 12 MB speed. This is a fantastic alternative using an unlimited sim-card we get excellent internet all around a large 5 bedroom house with a minimum 30 MB speed. My son plays online X-Box games with no problems while we are watching netflix on one tv and my other son is watching netflix on another tv upstairs. Best of all you no longer need a pointless landline phone anymore. Would highly recommend this method of having broadband internet. Haven't done it but apparently you can take it on holiday (within the same country) and have internet wherever you are.

I live in a remote area and rely on 4g for my family internet. This sim router has replaced my previous one and has been stable and straightforward to use. Highly recommended.

Good router does everything and good coverage...LTE is great for backup if main internet goes down...

It clearly states in the product details that this works with EE and 3 mobile. I have both these data sims and they will not connect to the g4 network. Both sims work in other devices and I have confirmed with both EE and 3 mobile that the APN details are correct. I am waiting for a reply from NETGEAR support who has been supplied with this information. If any one can assist please do. I have a call logged with Netgear support however I am thinking of totally give up, this device is all over the place, LTE just will not work, ADSL broadband is extremely flaky as it drops of at a blink of an eye and yet the adsl router is connected ok. if you even dare to reboot or try and do failover test and then back again 99.9% of the time it comes back as disconnected. For the price it seems a disaster to be honest

e' di altissimo livello. come quasi tutti i prodotti netgear. ne ho già altri per un utilizzo di emergenza lavorativo e domestico con SIM mobile e questo è ancora più potente. segnale wi-fi stabile e potente che copre anche ampie metrature. provato con sim mobile di tim e iliad. sfrutta fino all'ultimo Mb/s consentito dalla connessione. se proprio si dovesse trovare un neo, sarebbe la modalità di prima configurazione. bisogna registrarsi al sito netgear e la procedura per accedere alle impostazioni è lunghetta e indaginosa, con password multiple e varie domande di sicurezza da impostare. e mi è capitato di dover ripetere la procedura al cambio della sim di un altro operatore. non impossibile ma innervosente epiuttosto lunga. i router nighthawk precedenti erano decisamente più facili da configurare

Tolle Produkt mit tollen Aktion für Bitdefender , was könnte noch verbessern ist dass Netgear Nighthawk App . Leider verbindungs Fehler treten oft auf , sonst sehr empfehlen wert

I was looking for a reasonably priced, good quality, easily managed device to provide both LTE internet connection through the mobile network and a WiFi hotspot. This ticks all the boxes. It’s designed to allow a wired internet connection with automatic failover backup provided by a SIM, but I’m using a SIM as the primary (and only) connection, and it can be configured to work that way, which is perfect. I got a SIM with a prepaid data-only plan with enough data and expiry time to meet our online needs for a reasonable price. The lights on top of the case are well designed and clearly convey the status, which is very helpful. The manual is thorough and easy to understand. I had considered a cheaper device that’s listed on a few websites and appears to have been around for several years, but I couldn’t even confirm with certainty what brand it was, and the small number of web pages about it all seemed to come from the same or related companies, so I decided to pay a bit more to get a brand I’ve known and trusted for many years. I’m so glad I did.
