Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Select | 400g | Complete Diet Cat Food | May Help Support Kidney Function in Chronic Kidney Failure

Royal Canine make some excellent pet food and our cats have all loved eating numerous varieties. Recently, our elderly female cat was diagnosed with renal problems, so we bought this to help restore her health. It wasn’t available at our local pet store as it’s a specialist pet food, so I ordered some for home delivery. Sadly, we were let down by that courier company, not only missing the estimated delivery date, but also missing the actual delivery day. It eventually arrived 3 days later than expected. In the mean time, I ordered this smaller bag via Amazon and paid for next day shipping. It arrived before the other courier could get their act together. Whilst it’s a little more money per kg, it meant we could start our at on the much needed new diet. Our cat took to the new food without any fuss or persuasion and eats it with the same relish she always does. This product is labelled Renal Select; which as far as I can tell, is the same as Renal Special. The only difference between the two is that the Renal Special packaging appears to be aimed at a French/European market.

It’s the only renal dry food my cat will eat and with her being so skinny I’m thankful for that

A bit pricey and a small, (but dense) bag. The cat with kidney issues refuses to eat them, but the once without KD does! They are a bit ... well, junky, like cat treats are. Light and crunchy. But the ingredients are not too bad. It's just a shame my cat won't eat them. I might try them soaked in bone broth or cat milk. I think my older cat actually finds them difficult (they are flat vs rounded) to pick up as her teeth are a little wonky now.

Quick delivery.

This Renal select is 0.4 % Phosphorus. I give it to my cat as treats! The kibble looks like dreamies, same soft centre. So Trixie has no idea it's actually prescription food! She hated all the other renal mush! I dislike the ingredients, but it's low Phosphorus, so I have to compromise. I feed my cat wet food, this is just for crunch in her puzzle toys. She loves it. 400g lasts ages when you use as treats!! Hope your CKD kitty enjoys it and keeps eating , bless them xx

Both cats ate it and the poorly one is much better at the moment.

They ate it…. Even my cat that doesn’t have kidney disease! Obviously they didn’t wolfe it down like their usual food but I’ve tried various renal cat foods and they won’t touch them but this one was an exemption. It’s worth trying your cat with this.

Crocchette di buona qualità, consigliate per gatti con insufficienza renale o comunque per gatti anziani (consultare sempre il veterinario). A mio parere essendo cibo secco andrebbe inumidito o sarebbe bene integrare l'alimentazione del gatto con altri cibi umidi. Consigliato
