SpareRide Bike Rack for Rear Mounted Spare Tires, 2 Bike Capacity

So far, so great. It holds my mountain bike, and my wife's hybrid securely. The bikes swing very little, and with the lock included, I don't worry about it wandering off. Attaching the mount was fairly straight forward, but I had two minor issues. First, the plate that attaches behind the spare tire was difficult to fit over the studs on the spare tire mount. I understand that it needs to fit snugly, but it took a bit more force than I thought it should to get it on. I wonder if it will also be difficult to take off should I ever decide to remove it. Second, there are three different length tongues for the mount. That's great to accommodate different width tires, but the bolt holding it in place was amazingly difficult to get loose. It took an allen tool on the end of a breaker bar, with a piece of pipe slid over that to get enough torque to loosen it. When it broke loose, I thought I had broken the tool. I did purchase some velcro straps to stop the front wheels from spinning.

Very sturdy. Easy to take on and off . Secures my $3500 electric bike. Has a good security system for bike and rack. Handles up to 75 lbs. And it’s way better than the less models in both fit and utility. Bought from Repack at a great discount. Like new. Nothing missing.

Thank You Yakima! Finally a decent bike rack for the spare tyre. I had purchased the Thule SpareMe! It was an awful fit, wriggled around and my bike did not fit on it without the extra bar... Even the lock was badly designed! (Too short to FBI round my bike with the bar). Now this bike rack fits perfectly and secure, is very stable and holds my bike (Fuji SLPro small) without the need for the bar. It is also easy to put down when not In use (another bad design of the Thule SpareMe) .Its a little high once on the jeep so anyone much smaller than me (5'6) might struggle getting it on and off. I highly recommend this product. I am very happy.

I did a TON of research before committing to purchase this. Every option seemed cheap, or to have major design flaws. The largest being security. So I felt this was the best option but still had reservations. But, with one exception, it seems an EXCELLENT product. High quality, you can tell it is strong and will hold up as well as you could ask of a product. And for the asking price, there is a real sense of value. Install was easy. Directions weren't problematic at all. The design allows for complete confidence in the unit remaining in place (not so with other designs from reading reviews) with no worry of failure, slippage, of theft as it virtually impossible for someone to easily steal off your vehicle. Quick and easy bike mounting and removal. Minimal motion allowed for the bike while driving. But consider there are two design flaws... FIRST and foremost be careful if you, like me, have a Jeep with oversized tires. The longest mounting bar BARELY worked on mine and thus it is secured unreasonably snug against my spare which will likely create a permanent imperfection in the tire (not a huge deal but another 1/4 inch and this would have to have been returned). SECOND, the anti-theft cable for use with your bikes when they are mounted... piece of trash. So your carrier is reasonably secure but bikes are not. You should invest in a high quality locking cable or (preferably) two to secure your bike to the car.

Writing recent review on product and support. Willing to update if the company chooses to make this right. I received this, excited to be able to travel with it this spring and summer. Unfortunately this did not fit on my Jeep even though it is listed as fitting. After attempting to attach to the Jeep and not being able to - I boxed this back up per the instructions, using ziplock bags to ensure the parts were all secure and mailed it back per their instructions. The photos attached here are as far as I got on putting this on. To my surprise I received HALF of the purchase price as a refund despite this being a returnable item without any explanation. Completely unexceptional.

Just installed my spareride bike carrier on my 2012 RAV4 and couldn't be happier. The spareride carrier is very well made and easy to install on 06-12 rav4's . It holds my bike very securely and the zip strip fasteners are a great idea. Also, it works with my spare tire cover. If the weather is bad I simply remove carrier and throw my spare tire cover back on. You don't have to remove the bracket that fits under your spare tire in order to use your spare tire cover. I have a 225 65 17 inch spare on my RAV4 and the smallest bracket works perfectly. Well done Yakima.

I like that it fit right on the spare tire holder over the tire. I like that the arm folds down. It takes only a few moments to put the bike on or take it off. Makes it easy to go out in the morning to a trail and ride. Being easy, it only helps me in actually riding.

I bought a small teardrop RV to pull behind my Jeep Wrangler and had my jeep lifted w/33s added. I had been using a Thule hitch mounted carrier and it was great, but the only way it worked on the jeep was to add an extension hitch. Then when the carrier was added, I couldn't get the jeep into the garage without unhooking everything. So I used the chance when I got the trailer and tires to change out bike carriers and saw this one. It so fits the bill. Installation was literally 10 minutes. Easy to use and seems rock solid. Best part is I can carry my bike and pull my RV at the same time without the weird combos a lot of folks are having to use on the tear drops.

Ho acquistato questo portabiciclette, dopo aver visto vari modelli di altre marche. l ho già montato sulla mia Terios, una volta montata la piastra dietro la ruota di scorta, rimane il perno che sorregge il portabiciclette , quando non si utilizza, si può sfilare in un attimo e per chi ha il coperchio copriruota, lo si può rimettere , lasciando la piastra inserita. L' unica cosa è che, problemi fisici non l' ho ancora provato in viaggio, ma credo che vada bene. Se avete un fuoristrada con ruota posteriore , non cercate altri modelli con accrocchi vari tipo cinghie, tubi ecc. prendete questo, anche se costa un pò di più

Can't rate this product highly enough! Didn't even know spare wheel bike racks existed until we were looking for a bike rack for my partner's Landrover Defender. It's a bit too tall for us to easily install a rack on the roof and we didn't want to lose access to the back door by fitting a rack on the tow-bar, so this has turned out to be an ideal solution. It was pretty easy to fit and it feels very robust and secure. Getting the bikes on and off is a breeze and they sit perfectly now that we have bought the accessory bars to compensate for the sloping crossbars on out bikes. I've used bike racks in the past where I have still felt the need to take of a front wheel or tie bikes down with loads of additional strapping - but nothing like that feels necessary with the Yakima.
