It's a shame the ratings of this glorious recording have been marred by reviewers ignorant of the instrument and the acoustic differences between a recording made in a studio or modern performance space versus one made in a church. This is a first class recording by a consummate artist.

He disfrutado mucho escuchando esta grabación.Nunca había oído estas obras y tampoco mucho a este maravilloso instrumento, aparte de los conciertos de Vivaldi.Me parece un gran intérprete, que ya conocía como violinista, un gran instrumento y una gran grabación.Se puede pedir mas?

Ein seltenes Instrument, die Viola d'amore! Zur Barockzeit auch schon ein Orchideenfach, gibt es sie heute fast gar nicht mehr. Dabei haben berühmte Musiker wie Vivaldi, Tartini, Bach sie seinerzeit gespielt und sehr geschätzt. Nachdem ich nun viele der erhältlichen Aufnahmen mit verschiedenen Interpreten abgegrast habe, bleibe ich bei VALERIO LOSITO hängen: Dieser Solist sticht selbst unter den "historisch informierten" Spielern heraus, denn er spielt nicht einfach Geige oder Bratsche auf dem Instrument, nein, er lässt den eigenartigen Reiz dieser exotischen "Liebesgeige" mit ihren Resonanzsaiten aufblühen: Solo gespielt, klingt sie wie in einer Kathedrale, oder wie eine Radleier, oder wie die indische Sitar, wie ein ganzes Gambenconsort, oder ein kleines Streichquartett - ein klangliches und musikalisches Chamäleon: Faszinierend, und sehr empfehlenswert!

J'adore les sonorités baroques de cet instrument trop rarement joué...Dommage que de nombreuses pièces la fassent ressembler à la vielle à roue !! Populaire, c'est bien, mais je préfère plus raffiné!L'interprétation ne souffre d'aucun reproche à mon très humble avis.La prise de son sobre et naturelle, mais est peut-être à l'origine des sonorités un peu rêches de certaines pièces "populaires"...Un peu déçu... mais un achat intéressant.

Good stuff but only in small chunks

Viola D’Amoreの独奏アルバムですが、この楽器らしい重音+共鳴弦が醸し出す美しい音の広がりがよく聴ける選曲と勢いのよい演奏だと思いました。楽器はよく鳴っていると思います。トラック間の時間が少し長めにとってありますが、その方が実際の演奏会に近くて臨場感がありますね。演奏しているValerio Losito氏は1980年にローマ生まれの演奏家で、バロックバイオリンやViola D’Amoreを専門にしています。EUBO（European Union Baroque Orchestra）に在籍したこともあるようです。なお、2013年に新品購入で885円でしたが、本評を書いている時点でCDにはかなりのプレミアがついていてびっくりです。
