First Comes Scandal: A Bridgerton Prequel

Great fun to read
I loved how this story had serious parts, but also had some laugh-out-loud parts. The cat and the tree and then the cat on the carriage ride to Edinburgh were great additional scenes. I could totally see both happening. And the care that the butlers both had for Georgia and Nicholas was great to see as well. Georgia is a very bright, independent young lady who is unfairly put into a scandal. I am sure that this happened often, due to the strict mores of the times. Nicholas is studying to become a doctor when his father calls him home urgently, but with no more information! The way that both of them reacted was very believable and understandable. However, both of them always showed a level of respect and caring for the other that was just wonderful to see. I was sucked into this story and did not want to put it down, even when I had to go to bed to get ready for work in the morning! There is a fast pace, but it doesn't seem pressing, if you know what I mean. The tone is positive and the storyline is character oriented with some bits of action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and endearing. You just want to be around them and see them do well. You don't have to read the other Bridgerton prequels, but you do see some of those main characters in here. All in all, this is a totally delightful historical romance to read, in my opinion. Reading is my escape, and I had to go back right after I finished the book to re-read certain parts of it over again! I enjoyed it that much! This will go on my re-read pile! Enjoy!

5 Stars
I really enjoyed this book! It had such a different feel from the previous two books, the plot was very simple, but it was just as enjoyable! The word that keeps coming to mind is delightful! The medical aspect of the storyline was quite fascinating. I especially loved how intrigued and curious Georgie was and then how open and willing Nicolas was has teaching her and allowing her to assist him (when appropriate).Nicolas isn't a very prominent character in the previous 3 books, despite them all being about his siblings, as he's a child and away at school during those stories. Because of that, I wasn't sure what to expect from him as a character. I was pleasantly surprised to find him well rounded, honorable, smart, respectful, loyal and kind. He's also a virgin which was quite interesting. I'm not sure I've read a JQ novel with a hero virgin before. Their first time together was very well written and much more detailed than the previous couple of books! I liked it a lot!Georgie was also a wonderful heroine and she was the perfect match for Nicolas!I very much enjoyed everything about this book!I'm actually sad there aren't any more Roksbey siblings to read about in the future! But now I can move on to rereading The original Bridgerton novels!

A great read
I've loved Julia Quinns older books and havent really enjoyed her recent work as much, however this one is amazing!! Sweet funny and romantic in a normal way! I'm not a fan of 'misunderstanding, that can be explained with a normal conversation ' scenario and this has none of that! It a lovely story of two people falling in love in a beautiful way. One of my favourites and yes I read it in 4 hours lol , highly recommend this read
