Did this product have a safety seal on the lid for anyone or did it come unsealed and leaking like mine did?

Not sealed. Always comes leaking. Have to decline box at post office because they won't deliver the damaged leaking box.

Is this the newest version, manufactured after 2016?

I ordered fabric softener and received a bottle labeled as fabric softener on the front with instructions for detergent on the back. Anyone else?

Yes I got the same thing. But it's definitely fabric softener.

Hoe does this work? Can you throw in washer with detergent right on top of clothes?

The directions stated online are: DIRECTIONS: See table, on container, for dosing instructions. Add to dispenser or to final rinse after tub filled with water. Do not pour directly on fabric to prevent spotting. Always check labels for special instructions.
