Not sure what you mean by 'flat,' but this grate certainly isn't curved. It looks just like the picture. It comes in 2 pieces and by the way, please note that the little tiny support clip that keeps the grate from falling in in the center is not included. I think I got mine from 'grillparts.com.' Anyway, the grate fit my Weber Q perfectly and I would definitely call it 'flat.' Flat?

What is 'matt' cast iron? is it coated or painted? the original weber grill comes with 'porcelain enameled' cast iron. is this the same thing?

This grill is not enameled. Just heavy black cast iron. It's a very high quality grill set I'll buy again when need arises

The description says clips come as gift. Does the q100 have clips that’s are included with the grates?

My Q100 has places for the grate to set on

Is this a one piece unit?

Sadly, NO!!! I kinda was "fooled" by the picture. Read the description: 2 pieces:-( Unlike the original one piece.
