Yes it is NSF 42 Certified. However, here is the definition of this: Standard 42 covers aesthetic (taste and odor) claims, while Standard 53 addresses health-related claims. So its filtering things out to make it taste better but health wise it could still have all sorts of heavy metals etc.. in it. Def pay the extra for a 53.
