Great Bike Road Bike Tire - Awesome !! - Continental Grand Prix Black Chili Folding Tire - 700x23cc
I purchased this tire as a replacement for my front tire. My prior front tire Michelin Lithion. 2, was starting to show some wear. I had ventured to a nearby bike shop and checked out some of the tires. I returned to the Amazon site, did some research and decided to give it a shot. I had never ridden on a Continental Tire before, but most of the reviews were good - so I thought I'd try it. I just came in from a 25 miler. I ride in New England, mainly spring, summer and fall. I typically ride about 75 miles a week. I go through the Michelin tires quickly from a wear standpoint The biggest difference that I noticed with respect to the Michelin was the thickness of the rubber in the tire. This extra thickness is good from a flat prevention standpoint (backed up by many reviews) - and - what I noticed was that the tire looked and felt more rounded. The Michelin seems to be more in contact with the ground - while the GP has less surface area touching the ground. The tires have extra thickness where the tube contacts the tire. The tire rolled really well. I was very impressed. I've always ridden Michelin, but will switch to Continental. It seems that they've designed a better bike tire that holds up well - and provides a great ride. The folding tire was easy to change - and popped into shape as soon as I got it out of the box.
