Does this filter work if my shower is fixed and stems from the wall/ceiling (not handheld like the pictures)?

It only works if you can break the connection and add the filter between source and shower head/hose, and it needs to be fixed innproper direction for it to work. In my case did not work on fixed shower but only the one where the hose can be detached

I’ve bought the filter that comes with the original cartridge but the replacement one is much thinner and doesn’t seem to fit as the original one?
