Notes to Myself: My Struggle to Become a Person

I bought a copy of this book probably in the late 70s early 80s. I have highlighted read, and reread this book so many times. I decided to order me another one and one to give to a friend. It’s a great book, hard for me to put into words, but it’s thought provoking, and I feel like a must read for most every one. I was probably in my early 20s when I first read it and now in my 60s, I still enjoy it. You can pick it up over and over again.

I found this book while browsing a local bookstore. I hesitated to buy it then, which was a mistake, and then bought it later from Amazon. This book is amazing! It is an absolutely insightful masterpiece that makes you think critically about everyday experiences that pass through our minds. There are so many thoughts about a variety of topics that I am positive anyone will find at least one piece they can strongly relate to. The nice part about the book itself is how it is split up into little sections as you don't need to read a bunch of pages in a single sitting. I lost count how many times I have read through this book and each time is still wonderful. It has helped me get through some tough times in life, and I have tried my hardest to share it with everyone I know. So I will again try to share it with you. Read this book! You will not be disappointed!

Hugh Prather has been my friend in some of my most challenging times (he never knew), Everything he has written is relatable - and uplifting. If you go through a rough patch, get one of his “words of wisdom” books to accompany you on the journey, it will make your path easier.

I bought this as a gift and he loved it. Only issue was the page quality was not that great (newsprint quality). I wish they had a higher grade. And no, I didn't get a free product or reduced price for this review. I don't know why Amazon still allows that non-sense. Please encourage Amazon to stop spamming on their site. I personally don't care about a review someone did of a product that they paid a penny for!

I recently finished reading Notes to Myself by Hugh Prather and was really blown away by the powerful and thought-provoking content. Prather's writing is honest, vulnerable, and deeply relatable, and I found myself nodding along and making connections to my own life as I read. One of the things I loved most about this book was how it really helped me to connect with my inner self. Prather's words are like a mirror, reflecting back the things that I sometimes try to hide or ignore. I found myself having a lot of "aha" moments and feeling more self-aware as a result. Overall, I would highly recommend Notes to Myself to anyone looking for a book that will challenge them to think more deeply about their own thoughts, feelings, and actions. It's a truly transformative read.

I ran across this book second hand. I was so impressed I read it to some friends who had to have a copy so I purchased as a gift. It’s the book that keeps on giving. The quotes are relevant to all who live a normal life but want more meaning. Seekers who need validation of the feelings

The condition of this book was a bit more worn/stained than I would have hoped but not much is listed on Amazon in descriptions of older books about the specific condition of the actual copy being sent. With that being said, I had seen a quote years ago that I have wanted to reread for a long time. I knew the idea/ending of it but online searches did not produce the quote. I thought it may have been in this book so ordered it and as luck would have it I was right! Overall I am not impressed with the writings in this book, but the couple quotes that spoke to me made the purchase worth it.

I got to know a manager at a Farrells Ice Cream emporium. He mentioned this book to me in 1972. I had a copy for years but it got lost somewhere between here and there. I was reading another book and it was referenced there and knew I needed to get another copy. I did and it is so wonderful. It really speaks to my journey.

Ok - too cumbersome a read.
