Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat, 0.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

This is exactly what I needed and this product does just what it's supposed to! I like the matte look. There are matte polishes of various colors out there but most are gel which means a whole process which I was not interested in undertaking at home. This polish is not gel polish so no process to go through. You polish your nails whatever color you like and after it's dry just apply this polish as a topcoat-1 coat does it and it dries FAST! I love that you can turn any color matte. I used it on press on nails and it works on them too! I wash and sanitize my hands A LOT and this product held up-nails remained matte. Nail felt slightly velvety right after it dries. As you wash and/or sanitize your hands it loses that velvety feel and feels more smooth yet remains matte. I would definitely buy again and I would definitely recommend this product.

I don't know if this polish is unique, but it's the first time I've seen a top coat to put a matte finish on your manicure. I tried this out immediately and like it a lot. It took two coats to get a good matte finish, but it looks just the way I'd hoped it would. When you first put it on it looks like the standard glossy top coat, but as it dries it gradually turns to a matte finish. It's been several days, and it's wearing well, with no chips or peeling. Like! If you're wondering why you'd want matte finish nails, I like it because I like to do some kind of crazy things with my polish, and this makes the craziness more subtle. ;) Give it a try. 25 Jan 17 -- wanted to add that after 4-5 days of wear, the matteness (if that's a word) starts to diminish. It doesn't go all the way back to shiny, but it is not as matte as it was originally. For me, that's not much of an issue, since I usually add another top coat or two after a few days to gain a couple more days of unchipped polish, but FWIW...

While the product is extremely strong smelling, it goes on easy and drys very quickly, something any women knows is essential for a great nail polish. It also does a great job of making my nail polish color look matte. So, yes, the product does exactly as intended. It also makes my nail polish last longer than if I did not use it, which is also another plus, because I dislike having to touch up my polish everyday. Overall, a great product for the price.

This product has worked with all of my nail polishes of different brands so far. You can see your nails go from shiny to matte INSTANTLY! I also noticed it makes my polishes last longer and not chip as quickly. However, the only downside is that after maybe 3 or 4 days, the matte does wear off BUT my nail polish underneath still stays on another 2 days or so. So clearly showering, washing hands, or whatever gets hands wet regularly will make the product come off quicker than regular nail polish. It does work very well though, the matte look is beautiful!

I absolutely love this top coat. It gives my nails such an elevated, sophisticated touch. I can not believe how cheap it is on Amazon! I was going to buy Essie’s matte about you, but when I saw this for $3 I figured why not give it a try. I’m five days into my manicure and it still looks nearly as matte as when I first painted them; in certain light the tips look a bit shiny, but that’s it. I LOVE the matte over really dark colors, colors that I would never wear otherwise. In my pictures I’m wearing Essie’s caviar bar, which with two coats looks nearly black, but the matte top coat lightens it just enough that it brings it back to a devastatingly elegant deep blue. I have had fantastic wear with this top coat too (my first picture is the day after I painted my nails, the second picture is day 5; barely even tip wear!), and I’ll tell you my secret: two coats of seche clear base coat for dark colors (helps prevent staining/yellowing of your bail bed), two layers of polish, a coat of essie’s Platinum gel top coat, and a coat of seche vite to dry it all. Wrap your tips with one of the base coat layers, the second color polish layer, and the gel top coat layer. Then and only then should you apply the matte top coat. Sure it’s a lot of layers and it’ll take a while, but thanks to the seche vite once you’re done painting, your nails are good to go almost immediately (the matte top coat dries very fast, and you can see when it dries because it turns matte before your eyes!) it’s a lot of work but I think the results speak for themselves if you want a long lasting manicure. One last tip - avoid weird white flakes on your nails by keeping the rim of the bottle clean with nail polish remover and a cotton ball (and don’t let any crusties fall into the bottle when you’re cleaning it). Those crusties get deposited on your nails and look terrible (the same is true of all nail polish, not just this top coat, but I see a lot of reviews complaining about the white flakes on their nails and not knowing why). In conclusion, I love this top coat and might even switch over to mattifying my manicure all the time now!

This is a nice top coat if you want a flat finish. If you like a shiny finish this isn't for you.

Ordered this top coat and I have used in on polish, strips and dip powder. I love the matte finish and this is a big bottle and has lasted a while. I will order again.

Excellent quality.. dries within a minute and leaves a beautiful and even matte finish. The top coat is tough and makes even the cheap nail polish last much longer. Totally worth the price.

This product is truly amazing... sticking to its description, the product gives you an amazing matte finish also it dries so fast with absolute lasting quality at least for a week... People, you would love this product!!!
