I see where people have said that this is watertight, but will the colors run together?

I didn't turn the box upside down so not sure if that would have caused paints to run together. I had no problems with watertight nature of the box but I did leave paint in it for about 3 months and found air must have gotten in since the paints dried out a bit.

Can the silicone seal be used as a mixing tray, while uncovered?

I think the silicone seal could be used as a palette. The main challenge would be keeping it free of dust, etc. as it attracts everything floating through the air like crazy. It is smooth on one side; the other side has grooves that allow the well dividers to snug up tight into the seal when the lid is closed, thus keeping liquids contained. The lid is not hinged, as it appears in the pic, and is completely removable, so it can lay flat- although the clips can get annoying. I use the lid as a palette if I need one.

Can I put a Block in the emty place?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Is Block a particular product or are you talking about a physical block (like wood or some other material)?

Is this a good palette for holding Mission Gold paints? (They tend to not dry fully)
