Nice Rolling Pin, Easy to Clean, Solid Feel
I purchased this rolling pin to replace my old wooden one with the traditional handles. Instead of pounding meats for frying "cutlet" recipes, I prefer to use a rolling pin, to eliminate "meat splatter" (even with plastic wrap, there is always some splatter), and to achieve more even flattening results. Because this rolling pin is stainless steel, I can also eliminate any concerns about being able to thoroughly clean the rolling pin, which is especially important when working with meats like chicken and pork. Also, because of its 15 3/4" length, and slight taper on either end, I can now work with larger pieces of dough without the limitations of a handled rolling pin, which will allow for smooth, even results over a larger area (maybe I can finally learn to make my own pasta). To make things even better (and in case I never learn to do the pasta thing), the seller (Virtuosoul, LLC) emailed me a .pdf recipe book by Ultra Cuisine, filled with over 160 pages of dessert recipes. At over half a pound (i.e., 10 ounces), this rolling pin feels solid with the weight that makes it easy to handle, and easy to feel the thickness of the food I'm working with.

This ain't your mama's rolling pin!
In all my baking years I've used a traditional wooden rolling pin - because my mom did, and her mom did. I always had issues with dough sticking, difficulty using the handles, diameter too large. Just hated it. I looked at silicone rolling pins, supposedly didn't stick and had ball bearings in the handles but I found them cumbersome - and I was done with handles! Then I saw this one on Amazon. It was long enough for my largest pie crust and cinnamon roll doughs, had a smaller diameter so it'd roll over a surface area more often and evenly. I'd be able to really push down for thin crusts. Because it's metal it really chills up in the fridge for those shortening crusts. For really moist & sticky butter/shortening crusts I find a bit of oil rubbed between palms of hands, then all over the roller is helpful for sticking. I prefer rolling sticky crusts between parchment paper and was able to get them paper - thin with this roller! I recently used it on homemade naan that really puffs up, a bit too much. It needs to be rolled quickly and thinly so the gluten doesn't reactivate. I was amazed how effortlessly this rolling pin glided so uniformly and fast over the dough. Not one piece stuck to the pin! The narrow diameter made it so much easier to control the pins movement. I've seen the wooden one's shaped somewhat like these but you're still going to have sticking issues. Metal holds a chill better than wood. Cleaning is a breeze - and no where for bacteria to hide like wood! Love this roller - Holy Grail!

Lightweight for people who have trouble lifting heavy objects.
I've been baking since I was 6 with my grandma. I'm 27 now. I'm a guy who tends to have alot of issues with rolling pins. 1) I'm aggressive so the ones with the little nobs don't work for me. 2) when the dough sticks i usually get irate. With this rolling pin everything seems different. The material of the pin is ultralight weight which is a plus for me because it helps me realize how much force I am using while pressing down. Meaning if I need to stop at a quarter inch its not gonna happen naturally from the weight of the rolling pin alone. You can also place this bad boy in the freezer for a couple minutes and its ice cold. Roll for a couple minutes and put it back in the freezer while you cut your cookies or crusts into shape. By time you take your second set of dough out of the fridge to start the pin is cold again. Its dishwasher safe. Which is a plus for me because I hateeeeee dishes. What I will say is the most impressive part about my order was that the company sent me a follow up email to my email linked to my Amazon a couple days later. The email asked how the pin was working and said if it was anything less than 100% then they'd take it back no questions asked. They also provided me with a link to 150 free dessert recipes. Now I know I've had an Amazon account for almost 9 years and not one time has a company themselves sent me a follow up email to ask how a product was working. SURE you get the occasional Amazon email asking but this was the actual company. Seeing as I paid 17$ and they went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied like I bought a 300$ marble pin was mind blowing. Kudos and I can't wait to gift these to the other men in my baking group and relatives for the holidays. If you are on the fence about this product get it. You've got nothing to lose and I promise it will blow your mind.

Love it!
This rolling pin is awesome! It has a good size and heft to it. It is the perfect size for basically any kind of dough. I chill mine in the freezer and I cannot believe how much easier it is to roll out pie crust or cookie dough. There is absolutely no sticking! After getting the perfect shape of my pie crust, I roll it up on my still chilled rolling pin and unroll it on my pie-so easy! I used to hate making pie crusts but this makes it so easy I have become quite the pie baker! I also love how it can be thrown in the dishwasher so it is so easy to clean. My wooden one was such a pain to clean as there would be clumps of dough stuck to it. Also this will never make dough taste of onions like my wooden roller did of my cookies once. Another thing is that because it has no handles, it fits nicely an neatly in my drawers. One of my favorite purchases so far this year! Highly recommend!

Good...but might not be what you are looking for
Definitely smooth and good looking. Was expecting a solid piece of milled metal though; it definitely is a hollow tube. You can feel, very slightly, where the weld seams are. Doesn't affect the rolling though, so it's ok. Just a little disappointed because i thought this was solid metal, and thats why it was more expensive than others. Maybe my fault if i missed that in the description.

This is an excellent product if you are willing to learn how to use it from a pin with handles. Well worth the price, I LOVE it!
I love this rolling pin!! It is a little smaller than I expected it to be, but considering it clearly stated its exact measurements in the description of the item, that was kind of a me problem and despite the lack of attention on my part prior to purchasing, I have found it is still large enough that I have no problem doing all of the baking and rolling I have done with all of my other pins of the past. I have purchased so many wooden/bamboo pins throughout the course of my adult baking life and they always break easily, maybe I'm too rough on them (?, is that a thing). The last one I purchased didn't even get more than a half dozen uses out of it before the handles started acting wonky. I took my chances with this rolling pin. I've never used one that was tapered and to be quite honest, it doesn't even look tapered unless I stare at it because my eyes aren't great. But, once I washed it and started getting used to using it, where has thing thing been all my life?! I love the fact that it's NOT bamboo, this is my first time using something that isn't. It glides easily over my surfaces and dough. It does take some getting used to at first, because I am so used to grabbing onto handles, so for me it was a learning curve that the first two or three times was more than a little cumbersome, but find your patience and I assure you, you will not be disappointed. I bake a loaf of handmade bread (no mixer, no dough hook, just my hands and rolling) every Sunday. I bake pizzas, and breadsticks, and pies. I'm not a professional cook or baker. I'm a stay at home wife and mother with a work from home Sociology job who loves cooking and baking fresh to relax, and I JUST wanted an inexpensive rolling pin that wasn't going to break, so I read the reviews that others left and decided to try this one. I was tired of replacing mine.

Solid, yet elegant & works beautifully
This rolling pin has become one of my favorite culinary tool purchases! It is substantial enough to roll out dough with ease without being too heavy to handle. The tapered ends allow for a surprising amount of control. I’ve never used this style of rolling pin before but I find it to be quite intuitive. I can see why this style is favored for making pies because of how easily you can pivot as you are rolling. Practice will make perfect! Today’s pizza dough rolled out thinly just the way I wanted without my needing to press very hard. As the description states, you actually can feel the thickness of the dough as you are rolling. Easy to clean and store. The feel of it is elegant. It’s all one piece - no seams that I could find. The edges are rounded. I do appreciate quality machining like this. I received a lovely email from Vivian along with the dessert recipe ebook - a nice surprise! Really, this is high quality at a good price. I can see this lasting for many years to come.

High-quality rolling pin, but requires more arm strength than expected
The classic‑size rolling pin is very well made and surprisingly nonstick, which makes it easy to work with most doughs. Just be aware that this style of roller requires more arm strength than a traditional handled rolling pin. Because your hands rest directly on the barrel, you’re not only rolling the dough but also rolling your fingers and palms along with it, which can get tiring during longer baking sessions. If you prefer a smooth, even roll and don’t mind putting in a bit more effort, the quality is excellent. Bakers who want something more ergonomic may prefer a handled design.

good quality, can be used for dumpling wraps
It's very well made, good quality. Used for making dumpling wraps, it's easier on the hand. And compared to my old wood rolling pin, this is lighter weight and longer. I'll buy more to give to my aunt as a gift.
