Bill is one of the best in the business as well as being an entertaining and interesting chap, a must read!

I got a history lesson and it made me pine for the industry I once knew. I would have liked more recording engineer geek stuff from a master recordist. But this book makes you want to leap out of bed and get on with it.. So grateful to the awesome author.

Das war die Zeit als in Plattenfirmen Manager entschieden haben, die von Musik etwas verstehen und nicht von Exceltabellen. Es gab Budgets für talentierte Musiker und man war bereit in diese zu investieren. Aus dieser Zeit berichtet Bill Schnee. Er war an der Hälfte meiner Lieblingsplatten beteiligt. Die andere Hälfte hat Al Schmitt gemixt. Sein Buch lohnt sich auch ! Uneingeschränkte Kaufempfehlung.

I was expecting a book that was mostly about the details of engineering and the physics of music, and while we’re given a very informative taste of that, we’re given so much more; a full five course, top Michelin star emotional and sensory experience. This book is a ride through time that is indeed exceptional and worth a special journey. It is masterfully written, well paced and a must read.
