Might work well as under-granite mount but warps above.
For anybody debating between this and the American fireglass brand version, there are so obvious differences other than the extra $80 for the American fireglass. The metal on the top of this is posterboard thin, and came with the corner bent. In comparison, the American fireglass is extremely thick and sturdy.I initially though the American Fireglass was the way to go... but then a friend suggested this one could be mounted UNDER the granite whereas the American Fireglass, by virtue of its thickness, would have to go OVER the graniteI think the ability to change the firepit later if it doesn't hold up well would be nice, but there is a benefit to having it under (easy to cover flushly...)Just some thoughts. I posted a video that shows the difference between the two.EDIT: I top mounted it and it warps horribly. I think this was a waste of money. I need to contact the manufacturer for a refund.Time to get the American Fireglass version!

Looks and work great! I have compliments after install
Looks and work great! I have compliments after install. Need 25 pounds of glass. Only complain is not was flush on the counter, not a big deal as I use silver caulk to hide it. I'm so glad I finally did this, but sadly, I won't be able to enjoy until it gets cool.

Very good quality. I have not experienced any of the rusting/warping issues mentioned in other reviews. Before I lit this burner however, I made sure to place the fireglass in the pan. Overall, I am very happy with the quality of this unit.

It warps after a few uses
It has warped terribly. I fortunately have it in a trough like feature so it hides it well but I had to buy more fire rock to cover up the unevenness.
User
Very poor
Extremely poor for the money. There is literally nothing, no switch , no gas pipe to connect. Very poor

Not bad for the price
If your creative you can make it work, unfortunately it will warp with the heat like others have reviewed. I cut off the lips and tapcon screwed into concrete base and but rocks on top. If you can use or cast in concrete it will work well. For the price of a 72" linear unit it's a good deal if you can work around some of the issues. If your install is a cut out regular install it will warp on you, if your ok with that than go for it.

Warped first time using
First time I fired up my fire table the stainless steel pan burner warped. The edges are no longer flat and flush with table top. Other then warping the burner works fine.
User
defective
This looks good but it's defective. The metal housing warps and buckles from the heat thrown off by the burner. The metal needs to be thicker.
