It was a bit flat as a reviewer stated but I just looked at the pic and fluffed and arranged just a bit and when finished the arrangement looked just as advertised. Really good quality for the price, as artificial arrangements (quality ones) are not cheap. The thicker stems in the back do have some inside "wires?" exposed at the end but honestly for the price that doesn't bother me at all. And I can just clip it if it did. I would order this again and plan to order other pieces from this company as well. As for packaging, the piece came it's own box that was packed inside of a shipping box that was also packed with paper. I felt that it was pretty secure. No damage at all. The back of the arrangement is indeed flat but it suits my purposes just fine. I guess if you needed to you could simply add some more peonies to the back but don't quote me on that. I really loved this arrangement and my family did too.
