5-Pack Black 1020 Trays, Heavy Duty Seed Starter Tray with No Drain Holes, Seedling Flats Microgreens, 2.525 Inches Deep

I don't know why I waited so long. I can't imagine the trays not lasting a lifetime. Solid. Much stronger than the "stronger" trays at Lowes. Do yourself a favor. Buy these once. You will not regret it.

Great purchase!! These trays are well worth the money. I must admit...when I hit “buy now” to purchase these on Amazon I had my fingers crossed that they’d be worth the initial investment. When they arrived I was so glad I had taken the plunge. They are worth every penny. They’re extremely strong, sturdy, conveniently sized, and more versatile than one might think. This company is not kidding around when it comes to a well thought out product. They are everything I was looking for structurally, functionally, and ethically. Cannot say enough about how satisfied I am with these seedling trays. (I realize how bizarre this statement reads. Who gets this excited about seed trays??!) I will definitely be purchasing more of these as well as their trays with the mesh like drainage bottoms. I would be really stoked for this company to become a really big a success. They have some big ideas and ideals packed into their products, and I’m really hoping to see their catalog expand and diversify. Five stars all the way...bottom line: yes they are expensive compared to many others available on Amazon, but they’re a bargain when you factor in cost per use & that really good feeling you get when buying from a company that shares some of your values. Even on Amazon it’s possible to support business. It’s really nice to know that not every seller on Amazon is pushing cheap throw away culture crap! Kudos to you Bootstrap!

I initially purchased these trays to grow wheat grass mats for my cats. They have worked extremely well for this purpose. They're big enough for a single cat to lay down on and each tray of wheat grass will last at least a couple of weeks with sufficient watering, in spite of constant mauling by the cats (and a couple of dogs, as well). When the grass has faded it removes easily and the trays clean right up with a quick rinse. I liked them so much for this purpose that I purchased another set to use for starting seedlings in peat pots and to hold small pots of propagated plants. They are definitely sturdier than similar trays I've purchased in the past from "big box" stores, which tend to be thin, spindly, and prone to cracking. They're more expensive, but I anticipate that they'll last a lot longer, resist cracking, reduce waste, etc. so you get your money's worth in reusability.

Great product! It’s really hard to find trays of high quality and strength that have the look of these. All the trays I found around (hydro shops of course) all black and flimsy for growing pot. Well I’m not I’m growing microgreens and when I present the tray to the chef it can’t look like I took it out of a green house and it also can’t bend and fall on the ground when I hand it to him/her. The trays have pockets for the water to go into and hold moisture as well as no drain holes. Works perfect for what I’m trying to do. These trays surpassed my expectations. I definitely will order from this vendor again no problem. Even if you’re not growing microgreens the trays are so durable you can safely water and carry them from point A to point B easily. As well they add color to the room that I enjoy. Panda film and bright led lights are boring and I like excitement and pizzazz. Also I would like to add I saw reviews of people not pleased with the shipping. That’s amazon folks don’t be mad at the vendor. My shipment was on time and not one break in any of my trays. Thank you Bootstrap Farmer for supplying a product I needed and a luxury service.

These Bootstrap Farmer propagation seed starting trays compared to others purchased at a well known nursery is the same wt. and quality, at 2/3rd's the price, and then you save shipping from Amazon on top of it, if you're a Prime Member! I was so pleasantly surprised! These will last me the rest of my gardening life. I had some grid inserts from a Nursery, and they fit perfectly in these trays. I like it that they all match as the trays are black, and the insert grid inserts are black. Besides all these things, I ordered from Amazon, and got them in two days. Amazon saved the day, and came through for me again! And...you can't beat the Bootstrap Farmer! Besides all that, ordering off the Amazon website is made so easy, where in other websites it's not easy to be sure what you're ordering. Order these, you won't be sorry. They are so rigid that you'll never dump your precious seed starts, as you're watering them.

I've been gardening for better than a decade now and these days, we raise almost 700 garden starts from seed every year. At a certain garden size, you need serious plant mobility. One of the best investments I've made has been into heavy duty 1020 trays. I've used Super Sprouter Quad trays, PermaNest trays and have been happy with both. But, my garden had expanded beyond my 20 tray capacity. I was open to trying something new, these looked to fit my heavy duty criteria, so I figured I'd try these Bootstrap Farmer 1020 trays. These trays are as good or better than my other quality 1020 trays, and not just for the awesome color selection. The difference between a true heavy duty 1020 tray and a regular 1020 tray is night and day. If you're just getting into gardening or you've been unhappy with light duty trays, this is the grade of tray you're looking for. The heavy duty trays will last for many years and will outlast light duty trays 20+ to 1. These Bootstrap 1020 trays easily allow transport of a full tray of plants, regardless of the pot or insert size you might be using. Even my bulky 5.5" pots, filled with wet soil and weighing probably 40+ pounds, are no match for these trays. The Bootstrap trays fit all my existing 1020 accessories (domes, inserts, pots) without any troubles. These trays are great for bottom watering your plant starts, definitely go for the no-hole version. These green trays are super snazzy looking too, but I would have been happy with any color. (See update!) The price tag may seem a bit high, but they are worth every penny for the number of years you get out of them. The biggest problem I have is people trying to steal my heavy duty trays when I deliver extra plants to my fellow gardeners! More than once, they'll try to give me back a cheap 1020 tray thinking I may not notice. These bright green ones are perfect for that purpose, not once has anyone tried to steal one! For an optimal fitting setup, you can use 2 inch pots, 3.5 inch pots or 5.5" inch pots with these. These sizes will provide 50, 18 and 8 plant sites per tray, respectively. All 1020 based inserts, such as 606/608/1206/1208/etc will also work perfectly in this tray. Most 200 and 128 cell germination trays come in 1020 size and will fit these trays. Other pots sizes will work in these trays, but the above will get you optimal capacity and transport. I intend to buy more products from Bootstrap Farmer. If I were buying a new germination setup, I'd give a hard look at Bootstrap Farmer's 200 cell tray. I really like how they made it deep, working with a standard 1020 tray. Keep up the good work.

Heavy duty trays. They made it through the first season of seed starting and cleaned up as good as new. I can carry around 18 - 3x3 seed pots with plants without any worry. I am very happy to have these.

These trays from Bootstrap are the strongest, most durable trays I have come across. They are pretty expensive, though. But I want to do my bit and not add to the landfill if possible and thought these are worth their price if I can use them year after year. I bought some last year and was so impressed with the quality that I purchased more. I really don't foresee adding these to the landfill any time soon. Maybe not in my lifetime. Not that seed starting trays are heirloom items, but maybe gardeners will be using these long after I'm gone. That makes me happy. Not five star because of the price but only because the price (versus the cheap flimsy one-time use trays) might discourage others from purchasing this great product.

I love the trays, and they weren't cheap to get here...but I am disappointed that the box did not come with filler and while in transit the trays must have bounced around and arrived all chipped on the edges. I waited a few weeks to get here so undecided if I will return because I need them.

So much stronger than others on market only thing is they cost arm and a leg to buy in from USA. Old saying you get what you pay for.

Very happy with these so far. They are very pricey. Hopefully they last for years.

These are very heavy quality! Very strong. I have used them for two years and they’ll last me the rest of my gardening years. These are beautifully strong with a bit of softer plastic in them to make them ‘give’ or flex a little. They are expensive compared to the store bought ones, yes, but if you have to replace the cheap ones every year or two at best, then you have wasted your money. There is a huge difference between these and the cheap trays you can buy anywhere (that are brittle and flimsy and break easily). You pay for quality, here, and you get quality here. Hands down, I DO recommend these!

They are strong and sturdy trays but arrived damaged. Corners were broken off during shipping due to insufficient packaging . Will keep the trays as it does not affect the rest of the trays and I am using them already. Be aware that they could arrive damaged. But they are great for germinating seeds.
