can this be used for blind bearings such as motorcycle wheel hubs which typically need 'pushed' from the other side rather than pulled?

Yes, which is the reason I bought it. However, the pullers may not be able to get a good enough grip to pull all bearings. I've had a few that it would not grip enough to pull out. The jaws aren't hard enough or machined sharp enough to work 100%

Will this work to remove a carrier bearing in outboard motor lower units?

I'm not sure if it will work for that application. If the puller jaws can grab the back side of the bearing it probably will. I bought it for working on motorcycles and it will work some of the times but not all of the time.

12-14".. all the metal is garbage. not usable. threads pull out. strip. weak metal.
