𝟭𝟬𝗚𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲-𝗧 𝗦𝗙𝗣+ 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗝-𝟰𝟱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿, 10Gbe SFP+ Copper Ethernet CAT.6a Module, up to 30-Meter, for Cisco SFP-10G-T-S, Meraki, Fortinet, Pack of 2

When the 10Gtek arrived in the usual new "green" shipping package, I felt the "box" it wasn't the usual and I had to get this thing open and see what it is. The container it comes in is genius. It took the great deal I got and hope that it works to "Holy Crap this is So Cool!" and no doubts about it's operation. Upon opening the little metal box by sliding the top, there was the dongle. I had a bit of a problem taking it out of the plastic holder. But once out if it weren't for the way the device was presented I wouldn't have been as impressed. There's nothing initially special about any of these things, so it's not the only one that's "non-descript". Although it's a great value it doesn't seem cheap. I started to look for any specific instructions that if there were any special directions that needed to be considered. I took out the plastic holder insert the dongle came in and no little folded piece of paper with type so small you need a microscope to read it. But then noticed the instructions were painted on the under side of the lid which are simple, very readable and easy to understand. It fits like a glove when I plugged it in and is completely compatible with my UniFi UDM Pro and works without needing anything special. Pop it in and that's it. The system is showing it as if it were OEM. Make sure you use a minimum of a Cat6a cable, it does matter. The Heat Level, I haven't noticed anything more than warm. Speed wise, right now I only have a 1Gbps connection but I'm getting over the spec'd 940 Download/940 Upload speeds. This coming Saturday I'm having 10Gbps installed and I trust that I'll get darn near their spec'd maximum speeds. Can't wait.

Great product. Works as advertised, and able to get 10gb/s connection to router.

I needed a way to fully utilize the 10G RJ45 uplink provided by my ISP gateway and only had an SFP+ port with that capacity on my UDR7. This module plugged in with no issues and was up and running in a couple minutes. It’s been doing its thing in the background since with no issues. It does run a bit hot so you’ll want to let it cool down if you have to move it, but I haven’t seen it be an issue while in use.

These SFP+ modules work as described and are compatible with my Intel X710 NIC which is factory locked to certain modules. Of note, ethtool reports they are linked at 10Gb, even when connected to a slower port (i.e., a 1 or 2.5Gb), so there appears to be some sort of hardware abstraction taking place. They also run too hot to touch, which may be a non-issue. I had concerns about the lifespan of the modules and impact of heat on the hardware with which they're being used, so I decided to return them. As always, Amazon was easy to work with on the RMA request.

Item is not compatible with certain Intel cards, because if you use Intel equipment. It will either not work at all, or if you do happen to get it to work, it will only link at 1gb. Tried a different module, and instantly connected at 10gb. Update- 7/15/2025 Even after I had returned the transceiver, 10gtek messaged me about the compatibility issues. They were confident they could fix the compatibility issue. So even tho i had already returned the transceiver and gotten my money back, they asked for my address and mailed me another model to try, FOR FREE!!! And it works perfectly. Get consistent 10gb speeds with over 50ft of ethernet, great transceiver. And my hat off to 10gbtek, I have never had this level of support AFTER a return. They are quick to answer questions, and will not stop helping you until your issue is solved. THANK YOU 10GTEK!!!!! Best customer service I have seen in this day and age.

Easy to use and works perfectly. Standard fits the port.

10Gtek's copper 10Gbe SFP+ works well, giving 10Gbps over standard Cat6+ cable. However, this module runs very, very hot. Too hot to comfortably touch. In my switch, I recorded a temperature of 67C (around 153 F) with a cable connected but the link being idle. This isn't unusual for copper 10G SFPs, but can come as a surprise of you haven't used them much before. If using a passively-cooled switch (one without a fan), you may not want to use use multiple next to each other.

UPDATE 11/30/2025 - Received a replacement and plugged in and worked perfectly. There were no instructions with the device, but pretty straightforward to use. Just plug it in the SFP+ and it was up and running. Great transceiver at a good price. ------------------------------------- I was excited to try the SFP+ transceiver but when I opened the box it was empty with no transceiver inside. Looks like a return that sent it back. I sent it back for a replacement. I will update my review when I receive and actual transceiver.

Works great for my Unifi Setup with my Cloud Gateway Fiber for full 10 gig network connectivity! This made sense and I am not regretting buying two of these Transceivers at all. It's a good price to performance ratio and it does as advertised properly. The only gripe I have with the SFP+ Modules is they get REAL HOT (99 Celsius) Make sure you have decent cooling where you are installing the modules as it'll save them from burning up and frying. I love the speeds and reliability they give and I highly recommend this to anyone who wants 10 gig connectivity over RJ45 Ethernet Cables!

This transceiver has helped us out many times to hookup a 10G capable switch to a 10G backbone while the switch has only SPF and SPF+ (the one you need) ports. While you could opt for a Coaxial or Fiber SPF+ to SPF+ direct cable in certain cases, where you need to connect to 10GBase-T ports this thing is great and fits DLink and TP-Link switches just like Cisco's.

Well done, easy to install, stable 10g connection

Unfortunately the RJ45 transceiver didn't work well in our UDM Pro's WAN port. The connection constantly drops and so it is unusable. At least the DAC's and fiber transceivers from 10Gtek work well though which is great.

Used these SFPs to connect Unifi Dream Machine Pro (UDM Pro) to Bell Gigahub 10Gbe, and also used SFPs to connect Unifi SFP ports over Cat6 as well to carry 10Gbe connection.
