Description for weight capacity says 350 at the top and then 300 ? Which is the correct spec ?

I believe the 300 lb weight is correct. This is fairly small and light weight. If you want a better made one, I recommend the one from Northern Tool which has capacity of 400 lbs, but it does cost $67.99.
