Love this bonnet!
Let’s face it - those with the most beautiful hair are always going to have to put a little more work into it. This helps me honor my curls and not drive myself crazy doing it. There is no miracle out there to get our best curls dried in a hurry, but this bonnet is the next best thing. I’ve tried it with and without the headband and prefer without. The chin strap does a fine job without me feeling choked once the air starts blowing. As an aside, if you were considering getting an adapter for your hairdryer and using it in the car, it works beautifully. Of course, not as the DRIVER because that could be unsafe, but as a passenger on a trip it would be a great time saver. Now if you did have a commute of say 40 minutes and you were inclined to give it a try (which of course, I would not recommend) you can position the bonnet over your ears so that your hearing is not impaired. And if you happened to stop for gas, you would certainly want to disconnect the bonnet from the hair dryer before attempting to exit your vehicle. If you failed to disconnect and yelp in surprise you may want to just pretend there is nothing going on and make a plan to only stop for gas on the way home from work. Not that I would recommend a driver use it to begin with. But it’s still a great bonnet.

Great inexpensive portable hood dryer!
This hair bonnet hood dryer is totally awesome in my opinion! It's very easy to use, gets the job done as expected, and is so portable! I am using the dryer with my Conair Infiniti Pro blow dryer. The hose on the bonnet hood dryer attaches to it easily and perfectly. There is a stretchy band at the end of the hose that allows for "universal" fitting to different blow dryers. I find that the Cool setting at high speed is enough heat for me, but of course this is controllable by the individual. The dryer comes with a zippered pouch for storage and travel. It also comes with a nice terry headband to prevent burning/intense heat on your forehead, neck, and ears. Just a perfect little dying tool to have in your arsenal to make sure those styles requiring setting . . . braid outs, twist outs, flexirods, rollers, etc. come out dried to perfection for take down! All this for such a low price - I'm totally pleased with my purchase!

Comparing old and new bonnet dryer design
TLDR:It was worth buying once, I just wish i didn't have to buy it twice. Would still recommend it.I've had this bonnet dryer for three years, and — considering the price it lasted pretty well. Recently, it started falling apart and got a hole on the tube so i decided to buy a new one because, despite it being cheap, it worked well and got the job done. The new version of this products had some upgrades from the last one. Heres my pros and cons:Pros:much better dryer attachment; more adjustable to fit any size nozzleterry cloth lining around the head hole; doesnt get as hot on the forehead (but I still use the ear protecter wrap from the old bonnet dryer kit, i hope they keep including them because doubling up was a lot better.Better airflow; Dont need to turn my blowdryer up to high, and I had to rotate the old version to get an even dry. This seems to move air more universally, but still most concentrated at the top of the headCons:- The chin strap is now necessary; the last version i could tuck it away, but with the new version, i think the airflow is a lot more powerful so it needs an anchor. Its pretty uncomfortable on the chin, so I'd recommend clipping it behind your head instead, still holds pretty well and is a lot more comfortable.- Same material as before, im sure it keeps the price low, but I think it will inevitably rip in a similar manner, just like the last one did.- headband strap is just dangling, not super annoying but I wish it had a snap or clip or something to put it out of the wayGiving this four stars because I appreciate that they made upgrades to improve the product. it works well and is really compact. Its the reason my twist outs come out better than air drying and great for deep conditions. But taking off a star since its still kind of a flimsy material and I dont expect it to have longevity.

Really impressed
So many great things to say about this portable bonnet hair dryer. First, it's compact and easily folds up into the included pouch which is great if you have limited bathroom storage. Secondly, the thoughtful design addresses all the issues with these type of hair dryers- it doesn't overheat and melt, there aren't wet spots where the air doesn't reach, and the included towel wrap keeps your ears and neck from getting too hot. I did make an adjustment though where instead of wrapping in the inside, I tightened the cord and then wrapped the towel around the outside as a seal. I found that wetting the wrap and leaving it inside per the instructions kept my edges from getting dry. Untucking my ears and wrapping the outside was perfect. I bought this to speed up the drying process for twist outs. I did have a learning curve on the right size to make sure it dried thoroughly. I made sure my hair was only slightly damp and did medium sized twists. 30 minutes drying was sufficient. The first time I tried my twists were too big and after over an hour of drying my hair was still moist. Third, I used to have a traditional hardhat table stand dryer and you're stuck there sitting upright. This design was great for moving around assuming your dryer has sufficient cord length. I was able to give myself a Mani/Pedi while I waited with no movement issues. Lastly, I picked the rose gold and it's so pretty. It makes my bathroom "salon" feel dainty! Absolutely love it.

Surprisingly works and allows multitasking!
I was skeptical but saw the high stars and decided to try this. I have to travel a lot and my diffuser is large and heavy and I don't like to air dry on trips all the time.I also purchased it with a hair plopping net to see if that helps. I dried with both on for 10 mins and I think the net kept my hair too compact to dry so I removed it and just used this after the initial 10 mins, and it worked great. I did a total of 20 mins or less. I have 3B curls. The pics show the product, then when I removed it, then after my curls settled for an hour after. I did love how it enhanced my layers way more than my normal diffuser. If needed, the products I use are a leave in, cream gel and regular gel. I didn't get much frizz with this either!Pros: I can multitask and do make up and brush teeth at the same time. It is comfortable, for the most part. It is sturdy and feels it will hold up well. I loved how I didn't get hot blow drying and the over all experience of having a blow dryer on me for 20 mins was WAY better than using my hand held. I didn't sweat at all!!! There is a synch to tighten it around head which was great.Cons. Honestly not many yet. The strap under chin can choke you a little since the air blows up. I tried it in back but the air is strong I was worried it would shoot off. My curls were a little wonky after but settled nicely after a bit.I would buy again and recommend this. Plus it comes with a perfect travel bag!

Decent but in dire need of ergonomic upgrades.
This is a solid product compared to others like it, but it has some glaring flaws that make it uncomfortable and difficult to use.Let’s start with the pros:1. It’s life changing to be able to do stuff while drying your hair. My hair takes about 2 hours to air dry and 30 to diffuse.2. It seems to be able to get my hair pretty evenly dried, which is more than I can say for my clumsy diffusing abilities with a hairdryer in my hand.3. The chin strap is very adjustable with snaps every 1” or so.4. It comes with a really comfy headband. Now for the flaws:1. The drawstring meant to enclose the bonnet around your head once your hair is plopped inside is made of a polyester cord instead of elastic. This means that long term wear (over 10 minutes) is really uncomfortable. I get headaches and migraines easily and this definitely irritates my forehead and behind my ears. Again, it takes my hair about a half hour to dry with this so this is a problem. A thick, flat elastic would probably deteriorate faster with all the heat but it would be exponentially more comfortable. I will be making this upgrade on my own.2. The chin strap is very thin and is NOT placed in an ergonomic way that my ears can remain outside the bonnet. My ears are quite small and they still struggle to peek out. This may not sound like a big deal but if you actually want to be able to hear and engage with people around you or watch something, you cannot hear ANYTHING outside the bonnet once your hairdryer is on. Two Y-straps would have been a much more effective way to accommodate ears comfortably. Ideally, the chin strap should be thicker for better distribution of the pull from the bonnet once the air is on. (Seriously, this thing will FLY off your head if you don’t strap it on.)3. The seam that encloses the drawstring isn’t thick enough to actually keep hair in. Some of my hair always falls out the back.4. The gummy-lined strap that keeps the bonnet hose on the dryer is pretty dinky. The hose usually flies off my dryer the first 1-2 minutes I use it. A perpendicular Velcro or snapping strap around the handle of the dryer would prevent this from happening. In conclusion, it’s aiight. I can make these improvements easily as an amateur seamstress but if you’re not as used to modifying cloth products, you may be as disappointed in this bonnet as I was.Considering this was one of the more expensive bonnets on Amazon, I expected better. Hopefully Eleganty will see this comment and start engineering a 2.0.

What a great, simple, and practical innovation!
To be clear, I only use the bonnet hooded dryer to apply heat during my deep conditioner treatments (hair masque, head covered in a plastic bag, and use bonnet dryer with medium heat for 15-30 minutes). I don’t use it to thoroughly dry my hair after washing (I air dry after washing). I have 4C hair that is relaxed. So now that I’ve established context, here is why I gave this product 5 stars:I absolutely love the portability of this soft bonnet hair dryer. I’ve always disliked the bulky at home table top hair dryers because storing them was so inconvenient. But with the soft bonnet hair dryer, I love how you can fold it, put it back in its little bag, and throw it in your luggage (when traveling) or store it in your bathroom drawer. I find it extremely practical that you only need to connect the soft bonnet hair dryer hose to a portal hand held blow dryer-this is another reason it’s great for travel. Most hotels have hand held blow dryers readily available to hook up the soft bonnet hair dryer. Lastly, I love how the bonnet adequately disperses heat over my plastic cap during my deep conditioner treatment. I use this bonnet dryer with my handheld dryer (the bonnet does not include a handheld blow dryer- you must purchase it separately if you don’t have one already). What a great, simple, and practical innovation!

Time saver.
There may be a little bit of a trial and error period, but so far so good with this product. I used this for the first time today and it seems like it will be a time saver. The easiest way I’ve learned to do my hair is to wash it, put some products in, and then put it in a braid while it’s still fairly wet and just let it air dry until I can eventually take it out to have crimpy/wavy hair. I naturally have wavy hair but if I let it air dry on its own it gets very large and frizzy.Typically, I would take a shower early in the day and then wear my hair in a braid for that whole day, sleep on it and take out the braid in the morning. Sometimes I don’t want to wait to wear my hair down a full day after wash day and bought this hoping I could just speed up the process.I’ve only used this once so far and it took way longer than I was first imagining but it did achieve the results I was looking for. It took about 2 1/2 hours but the waves are more defined and less frizzy than the way I’ve been styling it and all I had to do was put this hood on and wait for it to speed dry as opposed to air dry. 2 1/2 hours is way better than about 24hrs on a longer braid wearing air dry day.I put this on right after I would have normally braided my hair and went on with my day, but when I do it again I will wait longer to actually put it in a braid so there’s less moisture to start with and hopefully that will speed up the process a little. I also started it on the low airflow but medium heat setting and eventually turned it up to the higher airflow setting on medium heat and it was fine. I also started with the heat protector thing that covers your ears and then eventually gave up on it and just tightened the hood without my ears inside it and the heat was fine without it and made it feel less like I was wearing a giant hood and was just laying there watching a movie with a little extra white noise from the blow dryer. The warmth was very comforting. I wish the tube that connected to the blow dryer was longer so I could have put the blow dryer on the floor beside my bed instead of right beside me on my bed while I laid on my side watching my movies, but it’s not a big deal. Just would have made it quieter and would have felt like I was just laying in bed watching movies and not styling my hair.I turned off the blow dryer to check the moisture every 20 minutes and even after I took the braid out after 2.5 hours it was still a little bit damp in the back where the braid met my scalp but I kinda just gave up and wanted to see what it looked like since I was just testing this really and it was mostly dry.I’m looking forward to trying it again and waiting a little longer to put into a braid before wearing the hood. I think next time I’ll also start it on the higher air flow setting right from the start also because that seemed to help too and would probably cut down on time also.

Excellent for curly hair.
I was worried this product wouldn't work but it's actually excellent and diffuses my (2C/3A) curly hair well. The chin strap is a little itchy and could be a softer material which is why I have detracted a star. I can only use it with my hairdryer on cold because otherwise it heats up too much and burns. But still works well! Takes about 45 minutes to dry my hair.

Wow
Drying my dreadlocks has become so much easier. Just make sure you towel dry the hair first. It’s easy and convenient and comes with an instruction manual that you can scan and read on your phone. I love it
