Over 350 exquisite illustrations !
The media could not be loaded. A must book for Guns and vintage enthusiasts. The Maharaja of Jodhpur’s Guns is the first book to be written specifically on historic Indian firearms. With more than 350 unique images of guns and Rajput paintings from private collections showing their use, this book offers scholars and collectors the opportunity to see the superb Jodhpur collection and to learn about Rajput traditions relating to hunting and war. It is authored by Robert Elgood, an expert on the historic arms of Hindu India and the Islamic world, has lectured and worked in many countries. He is the author or editor of numerous books and was advised by current Maharaja of Jodhpur HH Shri Gaj Singh Ji to write this book as an account of the collections of the guns and ammunition placed in the Mehrangarh Trust Museum in Jodhpur. In the initial chapter, the author has thrown light on how gun powder and later canons were introduced in India. I contains some exquisite paintings of the medieval period. The subsequent chapters deals with various guns and the author has commented on their designs, working etc.

SUPERB DETAIL, PHOTOS AND MATERIAL
As always, Robert Elgood takes reliable information, well researched and absolutely beautifully presented material that gives the reader all the perspective needed and more in learning about the weapons and cultures using them. I proudly have every book he has written, and as a serious arms researcher, I rely on his words intently , and confidently in my queries and projects. I recommend this, and every book he has written to the highest level....they are treasures in my library, and I always am anxious for his next!!!
