Great product
We used this replacement cell while waiting for a new salt cell to arrive. Appears to be a great product to use during the winter months when the cell doesn't need to be used.

It has the correct threaded union fittings.
Perfect for. I have a chlorine generator that no longer works, and started leaking an an axial seam; it is about 15 yrs old. I tried to build a spool piece replacement by buying parts. The threaded fittings did not match, so I looked into this option. It may seem expensive, but the union connector parts are not cheap. This fit perfectly!

Wet rubber seals before tightening. My rule on all rubber washers so they won't move or bend.
Fit perfectly. I threw my salt generator in the trash. Don't Know why most everyone wants a salt generator. Chlorine is superior added as chlorine. Easy to shock pool. This part fit exactly. I've seen reviews complaining that a 12 inch tube of plastic cost 40 dollars. And that the price was ridiculous. Well it's like the old man brought in to repair a Cruise Ships motor. He changed 1000 dollars and just tapped the motor and the motor ran again. He changed 1000 dollars. Client said "how could you charge that much for hitting the motor with a hammer". Repairman said "20 dollars for getting the motor started with a hammer. 980 dollars for knowing where to hit it". Well this part fits exactly !!!

Works fine but way too expensive!
Does the job, went in easily. My issue is that due to the proprietary unions which I did not use, you pay a boatload for a basic piece of straight PVC pipe

Genuine replacement part
Decided to convert back to chlorine tabs. Had left the non-working salt cell in place, but it began to leak and the leak was getting worse. Thought I could make my own replacement piping, but read that the threading was not standard. Then I found this genuine Hayward part (had a sticker that looked authentic on it) and it fit perfectly as a replacement for the leaking salt cell. No more leaks and the pool is running great again!

It's a really expensive piece of 12" long PVC. You can't make it yourself though, as the threads are non-standard and only fit the Hayward salt cell.
